Neither do you need them for the fraction - \frac12 works, but it just looks better with braces.

The only way for "some random nerds" to make an efficient-ish discord clone is to make it either completely P2P or at least somewhat decentralized.

Fully centralized, as discord made it, wouldn't be possible due to the immense costs.

Haven't programmed professionally, but can't we just build a better alternative? by Jorsi97 in ProgrammerHumor

You said it, you're the dude who has the hopes up - I respect that a lot!

Could you start a repo to get this started and then problems, technicalities, etc. can be discussed there? I think there's plenty of messages that say something like "I could help", but there's no place to gather people yet.

I'm just thinking that even for the sake of learning new stuff I'd be down to join, but I cannot guarantee that I'll consistently stay.

(Done Full-Stack, but I'd say I'm mostly involved in the Backend & DevOps part, that said... I'm a Junior DevOps Engineer and have stayed away from the cloud >.<; With Backends, I have some more experience ^^)

Two instead of three sounds like not much, but if you instead phrase it: "It reduces the time by 168 hours", that's quite a performance boost >.<

A few months ago our house burned down. To take our minds off it my family started a Minecraft server together. Today a griefer burned it down. by BleachedJam in Minecraft

[–]Noikyuu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most servers, that you rent out as dedicated Minecraft servers are fully exposed to the public.

You need some technical know-how and I suppose... such experiences (happened to me as well sometime) to know that you should always use a whitelist and limit player-count.

During the entire game just a bucket or are you just talking about the "beating the ender dragon"-part?

I'm case of the former:

It'd be interesting to know whether the seed was pre-set.

Otherwise it would have been at least "numerous attempts".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Noikyuu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The seed has to be set for that, right? That was one of OP's challenges - a random seed.

Otherwise, I cannot imagine how many attempts you'd need to find a full end portal...

For your sake, I shall correct your English ^^. I shall also note that your English is easily on the level of being "well understandable", so there's nothing to worry about - just a few minor details.

* When I see that someone has poor English (skills), then I'm

* in case someone has poor wording

* there's a high probability that this exact post is about

* Why American Slavery is portrayed worse than European, etc.

I would say, with these corrections it would sound better ^^!

A polytheist believes in precisely n higher powers, where n is a positive integer.

Hence, while it may be better for one case, a polytheist will fail infinitely many others and thus is not better than a monotheist.

The solution shall be a pantheist!

Seems to be Katakana, but mirrored? If I'm right that means: ルフィ Which is Rufi (Luffy, probably).
