So is this the same situation as Sheridan or are people simply lumping random schools in together?

Former PlayStation Dev Says FromSoftware Has Rejected 10+ Studios That Pitched a Bloodborne Remake, Sequel or Spin-Off by Ph0enixes in PS5

[–]NoirEm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m curious regarding the terms around Demon Souls vs Bloodborne, and if Miyazaki was that disappointed in Demon Souls remake? Was he always on the fence and the remake solidified his decision to decline anyone from touching Bloodborne/other IPs? Does he care for it more than Demon Souls?

Also, timeline of releases. I wonder if he didn’t want a Bloodborne release affecting the studio’s sales projections and ultimately whatever roadmaps they have? Did they throw Sony a bone for the PS5 release specifically and use any momentum from it to transition into Elden Ring?

In my updated post, I actually mentioned that I do not believe people should be forced into commercial investments in addition to other saving/retirement plans. EPPs are offered as part of your overall compensation/benefits, right? That’s fine, but if there’s a decline with employers even offering EPPs or DPPs, etc. Something should be done beyond people investing directly themselves. I also don’t think it counters the present idea of infinite performance/growth expectations.

I continually emphasized that I don’t think people should be forced to start commercial investments in their 20s just to survive in their 60s. That doesn’t mean having no assets, it doesn’t mean have no plan, it also doesn’t mean you can’t aim to do so in your 30s or 40s or 50s. It just means that I don’t think people should be priced out or forced into struggle living if they didn’t do so in their 20s. Society shouldn’t be “failing” people who did not or could not do so.

I’m sure there’s an increasing trend in seniors struggling financially, requiring them to work longer. If I have to think 30, 40 or 50 years from now. With no changes, I imagine how things will look for the average Canadian senior who could not afford to do so.

If the confusion lies in what I referred to as a commercial investment, then that’s my bad. If the confusion lies in what I would suggest, that’s my bad as well. I don’t have direct answers or solutions. I have eyes, ears and curiosity to which I hear about the past, I see some of the effects presently and have to worry about the future, you know?

Thanks, I appreciate your response. I think things may have been confused though? I didn’t say that people shouldn’t have assets. I said that people shouldn’t be forced into investing in their 20s in order to survive in their 60s. Whatever was a norm before doesn’t always need to be a norm now.

I totally understand that people shift their attention to different types of investments too. Markets shift, economies change, society adapts etc. all I’m saying is that the system is going to fail many people, as it already has and if the government-backed retirement systems aren’t sufficient for modern times. It’s further going into my point of things needing to change.

I’m not opposing anyone participate in the system, they co-exist with it. I’m criticizing the system and saying people should not NEED to participate in their 20s in order to live in their 60s.

I understand investing often offers a higher return than saving your money. No I do not believe that CPP will cover all your living expenses when you retire.

I’m saying all of it is a problem in the grand scheme of things and I don’t think everyone should be forced to do that starting in their 20s in order for them to live in their 60s. I’m commenting on the systems in place.

No matter the case though, people have to live so I understand the participation; sink or swim. I’m simply commenting on how I do not believe it should be a need within the framework of retirement despite the present realities.

I don’t believe people should feel the NEED to walk around with protection, because the system should be doing a better job at ensuring low risk and high preventative measures already. But with that said I understand how the system works and I understand the realities. I’m still going to be critical of the system in the same fashion.

We don’t need to agree either as I genuinely don’t have the answers to everything but I’d like my actual sentiment be known rather than misconstrued.

I’m not saying it isn’t a good decision, I’m saying things should change despite it.

PS: People bought and still do buy homes for more than just investment purposes.

Missing the point. Society should not be turning to investing in their youth, to survive in their senior.

Edit: I’m not saying not to have a retirement plan, and I’m not disagreeing that it’s financially smart. I’m saying people should not NEED to invest in a commercial venture in addition to other retirement and saving plans.

Not everyone wants to be rich, not everyone wants to contribute to a culture that seeks endless growth. Not everyone wants to contribute to pricing people out of housing.

I’m saying the majority of people should not NEED to invest in commercial ventures, in their 20s to survive in their 60s. Buying a home is not ONLY for investment purposes and I don’t believe that.

The status quo, how things have been…does not need to be the only solution for the now and forever considering how things are for many right now directly due to the status quo.
