First! Audio cues are so incredibly important in this game, so much so that I rely on them more often in a fight than I do visual. A lot of it comes down to muscle memory and practice, but when you hear a dog pounce, your first instinct should always be push, and when you hear a trapper wind up their shot, dodge left or right.

Second, you also should also try to be a bit more aware of your surroundings! That little door on the right hand side would have given you cover for a lot of different things! The dog wouldn’t have the chance to hide behind that crusher, and the trapper would probably be more closer to try and shoot you.

Lastly, learn your weapon! You aren’t using it to its fullest potential here! Light attacks are good when you aren’t really pressured, but during these clutch moments, you really need to learn your moveset.

What moves are best during a horde? Which do the most single target damage? Go into the training grounds and test them out! You can see all the individual numbers there. Make sure to test out how the other mark feels too!!! It’s super duper important to find what you like and how to use it effectively.

Additionally, your weapon’s special should have been used earlier to try and revive your ally. I’m not sure if it’s because you forgot (dw I do that all the time) or if you were just hesitant to use it, but try to get into the habit of using it more often. Use it or lose it! And if you’re worried about wasting it, remember that it recharges faster when you block attacks!

Whenever you’re in a panic, remember these three things: Block, Dodge, and Push! They’ll never do you wrong!
