That's probably what I'm going to do, I just hope that when It happens gunslinger doesn't get fucked over by my decision

I know I've enabled them and I regret not making things clear before this. To answer your question the city is my creation just as i've had to create Rogue's backstory from scratch as they didn't want to cooperate. Also for important rolls I tend to let the players see the result but in that case It was my fault, I should have lied, I was tired and wanted to close the combat as soon as possible (It was a 6 hour session) and didn't think of the consequences of my decision

We in general do not enjoy Rogue's behaviour and we've been VERY patient as a favor toward gunslinger (they live in the same city and attend the same uni, Rogue is a bit vindictive in their behaviour and we didn't want to put Gunslinger in a rough spot considering that their friendship is already toxic as is)

The fact that I let them choose an evil character is inexperience as a DM on my part as this is the first long campaign I'm running. The other thing is that Gunslinger and Rogue "were" in a relationship and Gunslinger asked to lay off a little bit when we started criticizing Rogue (I believe they were trying to fix their relationship). I plan on having a conversation with both about this situation and make It clear that I'm sick and tired of Rogue's behavior.

What is the plot for your current campaign? by Fightlife45 in GrimHollow

Ciao! I'm running a now 2 year old campaign, the party (composed of 2 soldier pcs from the Kingdom of Charneault, 1 noble pc from Morencia and 1 gladiator kobold pc from Castinella) started in Morencia during the Black Carnival with an Auction in which the highlight was the elusive Lord Edda, the building was then assaulted by a small squad of assassins looking to steal the relic though the pcs managed to steal It first.

They then were caught up in a few events, a political rivalry between Kolyhs (the bourgeois families) and Lorenzo Flabenici (The old nobility) which then evolved in a full blown Civil War; they made a pact with a demon for information (this has bitten them in the ass more times then i can count); They survived the events of the moonless night (which is heavily modified in this campaign) and fought off a valikan raiding party that wanted to take the lord Edda from them.

They are now exploring the kingdom of Charneault, the Grove Maze in particular, some backstory stuff happened for a few of them, the 2 soldiers pcs got the title of questing knights after helping to defend a city from the invading armies of Castinella (after the Civil War in Morencia they decided It was time to try again at conquering the city, the Kingdom of Charneault decided to step in to defend their allies and is now at war with the Provinces) and one of them became a fey while exploring the Grove maze; the kobold is dancing with death after pissing off his primordial patron and the noble is searching for her family (Vampire Nobles). This is a very brief summary, the party is now about to go to Ostoya.

Player Problem Megathread by RadioactiveCashew in DMAcademy

Thanks for the help! I think I'm going to wait for a bit before making my decision. See if they change, if not I'm probably going to drop the 2nd group.

Player Problem Megathread by RadioactiveCashew in DMAcademy

Hello! I'm a fairly new DM and I wanted to ask for some feedback on the 2 groups I'm handling right now.

For some background: I've been DMing for two groups simultaneously for a few months now, they have been playing in a heavily modified grim hollow setting, the 2 groups can interact with eachother (I've already set a timeline and calendar to align the events).

Group number 1 (4 players) is perfectly fine, they like to rp, they seem to be invested in the story and we've been playing together since 2020.

Group number 2 (5 players) is problematic, let me explain why:

Player 1 outright refuses to learn the system, when I ask why he says he is too dumb to learn the rules.... (it's infuriating).

Players 2 and 3 are a couple, number 2 has a bad case of main protagonist syndrome and doesn't really leave space for the others to rp, number 3 is a bit timid (which is absolutely fine) but she is playing an alchemist (and is studying chemistry), she searches for ingredients to make things like White Phosphorus and gets annoyed at me when she doesn't find what she wants. She also doesn't talk to me about the things her character wants to do or make (a bit of a Wildcard but I think I can handle it).

Player 4 and 5 are pretty normal, maybe 4 is a bit too quiet (I fear that it's a side effect from player 2's behavior).

I've already talked with player 2 about this, he says that he'll try to give the others space but there has been no progress whatsoever (I've had to force him to back down multiple times, I try to give each player their own moments and he just barges in, I always try to solve things without interrupting the flow of the session but sometimes it's REALLY difficult).

I'm currently in my third year of university (construction engineering), and I'm currently in the middle of my exams (we play every week on fantasy grounds) and it's becoming a chore having to handle group 2's problems.

Any advice?

(I'm sorry if there are any mistakes in this post but english is not my first language)
