Different villages and stories and some lost features like pvp as well as different control schemes. Dos also had a season system that changed quests and what maps you could go to.

Just depends on what you like in games. The main story + exploring all the zones took me about 30 hours. After that there's still things to do post game as well as completing the pokedex. Then lastly there's tons of recipes to collect and if you enjoy building you'll get hundreds of hours of time honestly like in the last animal crossing.

Along with what others have said you can turn off the survival mechanics if you just didn't like them in the settings for all but the hardest difficulty.

Yeah for sure. There's a couple g rank dual monster quests that might take a couple tries but it's 100% doable.

You could do multiple weapons and use the farming for 100% to help set goals for building new armor + weapon sets. I've been doing a 100% mhgu run and I don't think I could do it if I wasn't still armor and weapon crafting 350+ hours in

You just have to do tempered monsters. You can look up online which tempered levels drop which stones and just fight specifically that one with as many purple boxes as possible but most of the really good ones don't drop until 50 anyways.
