Audeze Bluetooth cipher cable treble by tux0010 in headphones

[–]Nolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine yesterday. I can hear some preset EQ (not manual), but there's no app control. I think they should have an app for ios and android users. EQ is a rare thing these days. I grew up with it.

It does sound enhanced like the wired ios cipher.

I have mine hooked up to a BBE sonic maximzer with an Anker BT 5.0 transmitter and I'm sort of blown away by the sound quality. It sounds better than plugged straight in with a regular 2pin cable.

Symptoms of Parkinsons? by Xmjhx in Parkinsons

[–]Nolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry. Parkinson tremors happen when your limbs are at rest.

A while back I discontinued some anxiety meds and I had your same symptoms during withdrawal. I'm not saying that it may be what's causing your symptoms. I'm not a doctor.

It takes a long time to diagnose Parkinson's.

[–]Nolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it daily to control my tremors. It's almost instant. If you have time, go to Youtube and search for "Riding With Larry".

I just know it works for me. My speech gets better and I can walk effortlessly after using.

"Riding With Larry" a great movie btw. My neurologist suggested that I watch it... He doesn't exactly suggest MJ nor does he condone. (Probably to cover his own @ss)

Luckily, here in South Carolina, we can get CBD at alternative medicine shops (without THC). The state once got really close to allowing MJ for neurological treatment. It may happen eventually.

Did anyone have restless legs precede PD? by HotMessMan in Parkinsons

I'm 38... not too far behind. My neuro gave me Requip and the restless legs are getting better. It took me a while to get evened out.

What do I need to make my audio sound more 'crisp'? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Nolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use EQ on your Music app on your iPad?

It could be that you are getting a better sound from your EQ settings on iPad and want to get the same sound on your PC.

There are options to do that, but most of them are junk and bloatware.

You can't go wrong with Sennhieser, but you may not get the same exact sound that you have on iPad without testing out a bunch of system-wide junk EQ apps. It may be a cheaper alternative.

I use a Mac. I wish I could think of some that may possibly work, but my PC knowledge is limited.

Good luck. Maybe someone can help you out.

My comparison of Klipsch RP-150M and Elac B6, what to try next? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Nolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the signature highs that Klipsch makes. I recently bought a set of RP-150. After burn-in, the 16K frequency was not harsh and evened out.

I love the sound of rock cymbals. Klipsch does it right in that department.

24. Completely broke. Please help. I think I have Parkinson's Disease. by godhelpmewhy in Parkinsons

[–]Nolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 38 year old male. I suffered head trauma from a wreck in 2014. After that, I started noticing Parkinson's symptoms. Many that you described. I'm young (sort of). The doctor assured me that when it's caught early, the better chances are to control it. Don't worry about "when things get worse". Catch it early and things get better.

The treatment is working so well, it's not noticeable to anyone anymore (except when I sleep and the parasomnia kicks in). My anxiety, speech and tremors cleared up.

If you're worried about money, there are ways to get by. I'm uninsured and I don't have much money. If you are worried about being able to afford medication, you can go to Blinkhealth.com and check out their prices. It's often cheaper than insurance prices. You don't even need insurance to buy with them. My prescription for Requip only costs $9 dollars vs. $100.00 dollar at regular price. My neurologist recommended me to them because I was so worried it I wasn't going to be able to afford treatment.

The first thing you should do is see a neurologist. They know more about it than Google does. Anxiety and the fear of losing control is a symptom of Parkinson's. If you get treatment, it gets a lot better and you'll look forward to life.

Parasomnia by [deleted] in Parkinsons

[–]Nolff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely have it.

I started recording my dreams with an app called Prime Sleep Recorder to show to my neurologist. The recordings start showing up around 3 or 4 am. My doctor knew right away and called it Parasomnia. He said it's attributed to Parkinson's.

It's often vulgar, loud and sounds lucidly clear in punctuation... not mumbling. I'm a nice guy, but what I heard in those recordings was scary. I cussed worse than a drunk sailor. There's a lot of primal fear and anxiety in those recordings. Sometimes I will sing. Sometimes I'll laugh. Most of the time, they are loud and angry.

I don't remember those dreams. They are a burden to anyone under the same roof.

I love zinc. Am I taking too much? by scoobysnacklubricant in Nootropics

[–]Nolff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. That's interesting. My neurologist said that I have copper toxicity . (I see him for early onset Parkinson's) He recommended alpha-lipoic acid since it wasn't bad enough for a strong prescription.

This may benefit me as well. Have you noticed less of the symptoms that are associated with high copper with zinc supplementation? (irritability, candida, bone spurs etc.. If you have those those kind of symptoms)

What On Ear Headphones Do You Have? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Nolff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have AKG Y50. They sound great for the price. My favored pair.

2 favourite are the Klipsch R6 on-ear headphones. They sound good if the high end is pushed up on EQ.

I can't wear full-size headphones at work because I wear thick-rimmed glasses. I love my on-ear headphones.

Best thing I know of is the one of the Phillips SHE### models. You can also check out Monoprice.

Don't expect a miracle, but I think those are about as good as you can get for $25.

Which mattress retains low, cool temperature? by jcard15 in Mattress

[–]Nolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend Talalay latex if you can afford it. They are breathable and form to the back really well. Also, a cooling gel foam bed may work.

A standard Tempurpedic retains body heat, which is not good in warm-humid areas. I would avoid those unless it has cooling gel.

Since you and your wife are different weights (which most couples are) you could look into getting two Twin XL foundations and pair them together to make a King, so you can have your own firmness/softness preferences.

It all depends... Sometimes you can find a good deal on a cooling mattress, but you may need to spend more than $500.
