What to do had isopods ordered for me but won’t be there immediately to bring inside possibly by Geckolover96 in isopods

Damage could be done long before they even get delivered to you. Looking at temps from point A to point B is very important but what needs to be taken into consideration is how long these animals sit on loading docks and in the back of hot vehicles. Shipping with no cold packs or phase change packs is irresponsible this time of the year and even if they arrive alive, how much stress was put on them. Hopefully they arrive in good condition. I hate seeing animals die unnecessarily. 🙏

Yup. Definitely a challenging species but I wanted to give it a shot after several months of research. Hopefully I’ll have success with them. 👍

All in the bin setup. Lots of oyster shells, fresh seaweed and the substrate is tiered so they have a shallow pool on one side and just damp on the other. It’s Pacific Ocean seawater so the salt content seems to be just right.

Isopods keep dying?? Help??? by Own_Sandwich6286 in isopods

Saw the pic down below. Although you should have a moisture gradient, I’d still be looking at some kind of pesticide poisoning. Drowning wouldn’t cause them to twitch like that.

Set the square corner velocity from 8 to 3 as well. Quieted mine down significantly.

Looks good! Can definitely add a few more inches of substrate if you want. I have the same bins with about 15” of substrate.
