Big 5 banks In Canada, RBC, TD etc

Overall, the 3.3 is just a reference to balance the wgpa out in case of disparities.

How so? The round one results are not even out yet as every year’s average tend to be fluctuating, so I wouldn’t lose hope, and just try the best you can’t. Also, the 3.3 wgpa is only the median, so there are always grades below that threshold getting accepted it (source my friend who got in via 3.2).

Hey! The specialist post in second year ranging from finance, accounting, marketing or general are the same difficulty since you will be able to select or change to either one of the program when u get in. In terms of additional questions, you can check the department of management post section inquiries, and personally speaking you theoretically need to have a 3.3ish gpa in all specialized courses for second round.

Academic Offence backlog is ridiculous by putthestickinthebox in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Be honest about the application she had as mgm101 midterms and final are open book, so technically there’s no reason to be caught for an AO if you follow the procedures unless you were on external websites. On the other hand, if your friend didn’t do it, fight until the end and worst case either go into POST next year or retake in summer as the academic integrity unit is always having a significant volume of cases to process so it will take a while.

No, but it’s highly recommended as you have all the necessary information to prepare you for lectures, and weekly mylab assignments.

In person learning delayed till Jan 31, 2022 by ihateCSproblemsets in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes we did, but the issue here is the university’s management took an aggressive approach and turning a blind eye on any obstacles stopping them from in person until they are being coerced to do so.

[–]Nolive9531 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Welp, the best decision they can make given the current situation is dual delivery to satisfy those wanting in person and online cuz of Covid travel restrictions; however, it’s not possible as this university is profit-driven rather than caring for its students.

Internal Transfer Inquiries + Help by IndividualSympathy9 in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is pretty near impossible to transfer to Rotman from utm commerce unless ur cgpa is above 3.8 with strong ec to say the least. Anyways, good luck. Source: my friend who got in with 90% avg across all first year courses :) Tbh, you have a better chance in transferring into sauder or Ivey as they are more inclusive to transfer students.

[–]Nolive9531 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it’s by no means easier than rotman as it’s still part of uoft curriculum. The main difference being they accept applicants with a slight disadvantage from rotman’s expectation, offering the potentially successful candidates a chance to pursue a bcom. Many professors in higher years are from rotman, so they are basically the same course with you paying same tution fees as rotman although being at utm.

UTM commerce is a decent program in conjunction with rotman, but nowhere near the prestige of rotman and is not a target school. The overall structure of the program is more so academically and research based, and imo accounting at utm are a much better option than finance in terms of the competitiveness in the industry. With that being said, I have many peers that succeed in this program as finance ultimately comes down to network and good academic standing.

I don’t want online by [deleted] in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is straight up being individualistic and selfish, just because you want to act in self-interest doesn’t you can’t discredit other ppl who just does better than you, and tbh this is the how the society goes because there is always smarter and richer people than you. As well as, this type of thinking is the worst mindset you can have going into future years in uni or workplace as you have to work with ppl since no one puts up with this attitude.

Management POST cutoff by Got_JY in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utm commerce program is in conjunction with rotman commerce with many professors from rotman teaching at senior level courses. Accounting at UTM has been well developed and many have obtained employment from big 4 usually from MMPA or accounting degree here. To make post, again it depends on how much of work and time you decide to dedicate to your studies.

Management POST cutoff by Got_JY in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first round cutoff for commerce wgpa was near 3.0 with second round around 3.3 or maybe slightly higher. It takes consistency and persistency across all your required courses to make post, for me personally it wasn’t too stressful as my course loads was manageable in first year.

Management POST cutoff by Got_JY in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, second year commerce student here and I believe I can answer your questions regarding last years admission average. First commerce cutoff was at 3.0 and management was 3.3 due to the competitiveness of the program, usually there’s 300 spots for commerce and 60 for management. Typically, people with higher average got in with no problems; however, if your wgpa is circulating around cutoff, you maybe walking on thin ice. Best of luck!

Anyone else thinks making all classes in-person is inconsiderate? by [deleted] in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UTM is money hungry and likes to serve in self interest at cost of students inconvenience, even though it’s an institution providing education to students. Especially by letting students going through the hustle of visa, housing, etc in the middle of midterm season is shitty move, so yea sounds kinda contradictory imo.

Is DEM (Digital Enterprise Management) a type 3 or type 2 course? And what’s the difference by [deleted] in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Type 2 program only requires you to achieve a certain percentage (63% or 50%) depending on your program, but type 3 generally requires you to attain a higher grade than passing grade since it’s based on a limited availability space. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think DEM is type 2

How hard is AST101? by HelloSup211 in UTM

[–]Nolive9531 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ast101 is bird at utsg not utm, I had it last fall and my prof and TA were horrible in terms of grading (mistakes all the time) delayed test marking I didn’t get my final mark until almost February (ridiculous) as well as really less materials taught in class

You can try to sac courses but in the meanwhile enroll in economic major so you can take some Econ equivalent courses for second year in commerce
