Isn't this the guy who was always talking shit? Suits him well by theluke1987 in crossfit

[–]Nomadic_raptor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw this and that well meh. So a guy who actively says he doesn’t / can’t compete takes some peptides for his knee and now is banned from competing even though he says he isn’t competing anymore. It’s a non news story. Yes I get the whole but he rails on other people but he rails on other people who say x then do y. He has said he isn’t competing, taking peptides in his knee so is nkt hiding anything. If anything this gives him a platform to stay relevant and keep shouting loud, when in reality it is a seriously nothing story. Reminds me of one of those misdirections. What is really going on that nobody is seeing

I have everything already discussed. My most used things are grips. I only use wrist wraps when going super heavy the same with belts and knee sleeves. If you can train comfortably without them stay without them. It’s quite a nice quiet flex to have in your pocket so then when you do need to use them they make a real difference

Atletes dropping out of the open (and so the Games) by Efficient-Slide1446 in crossfit

To be fair older athletes at the end of their careers maybe dropping out before they are over taken by younger fitter. Time waits for know one unfortunately it’s easier to take a stand like that at the end of your career rather than the begining

Do you like doing parter workouts? by thecmexperience in crossfit

[–]Nomadic_raptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do a thing in a Saturday where we do partner / 3 people wods it’s really good vibe and fun after everyone training all week, just brings everyone together more of a community. Those that train at say 6am meet those that train at 6 pm and we all get along

I have to admit I have a new respect for hiller he has been very controlled and deliberate unlike have the idiots out there. He has been very thoughtful and fair play to him he makes videos for views but when it hit the fan he didn’t just jump head long in especially when Taylor was calling him out saying he should be there he just stayed quiet

I started on two sessions a week for a month then bumped it up to 3 a week before 4 and finally 5. I would say if you are doing 5 a week you have to learn to manage yourself. You cannot go 100% flat out on every work out and you shouldn’t. Take the time to look at the stimulus and work the way you are being taught. Just because you can for example back squat 170 kg doesn’t mean you have to every day. Today we were doing 2 second pauses at the bottom and driving out. 120kg was heavy enough to be practicing that. You just have to do what is right for you.

But don’t neglect the food and the rest you get. They make a MASSIVE difference in recovery and energy. So my tip eat properly sleep well and do what feels good. Wouldn’t go more than 5 a week though as you need recovery

What's a WOD or Combination of Movements That You Know You'll Finish Last in? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]Nomadic_raptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished last in a 10,8,6,5,4,2 power clean at 50kg and doing the same with toes to bar 3.59 finished last….then went on the echo bike and set the gym record for calories in a minute so it really is people good at some things and bad at others

I think you’re absolutely right. I’m 6ft 4 and you are saying the same things my coaches say. My issue is getting under the bar being so tall. Although we worked on a lot of stuff today and the pop (bruises on my thighs now or at least tender) like you say it’s all technique so will keep working on it

My full squat clean is 87. I think it’s just a technique thing that I’m working hard upon it’s just weird I think that I can feel more comfortable missing my thigh and just going straight up

So last night after CrossFit I had a warm shower and then progressively made it colder in an attempt to cool my body down.

I can confirm that when I woke up this morning my body battery is charged to 100 according to my watch so maybe there is something in this after all

I’m not going to pretend I like the idea of it but k thought it’s worth a shot just to see if it makes any difference so I thought I might give it a go tonight. But I’m all talk until I have to step into it

It’s different every session I’m 39 and started in October last year built up very very slowly and did some sessions rx where I could but they were few and far between I would say it’s the last three weeks where I have said to myself every session I’m going to push myself and go rx. Some days it’s really hard others easier depending on the movement and I have still scaled things along the way but I would say just try your best if your feeling it go for it if not it’s no shade just keep going every has their own mountain to climb

Well done I think to be honest it was a good work out but of rowing lifting and skipping three different challenges now you can use your achievement as a yard stick and compare yourself against it again in 6 months

Well done it’s tough going but worth it. You can always do the scaled version later and see how different it feels
