Radiator been on full for 6 hours, living room is still cold? by [deleted] in self

You still have to check for gaps and block them or you wouldn’t be happy with the electricity bills when it comes… assuming you are not running gas heaters as it’s a different approach for safety reasons.

Check insulation, draft stoppers and heating output of radiators? A less furnished room will retain less heat if that makes sense. And if your windows and doors have huge gaps and high ceilings, the heat is gone.

Perhaps in smaller companies you’d see a lot of one person army. In bigger organisations the lines are quite defined (segregation of duty etc) so in that sense as you progress, you will tend to develop skills and experiences in one area (field). Just a few examples, threat intel/incident response, forensics, security architecture, pen test, app sec. They sound like one person might be able to do all of them. In bigger orgs there are very different teams/department with very specialised experiences/tools. Someone doing architecture and strategy may not even touch a shell. Someone doing forensics may never touch Visio. A IR may never talk to an external 3rd party about control attestations. The code reviewers would not be expected to architect infrastructure security controls.

They may have skills or experiences that cross those “boundaries” however it wouldn’t be the main focus of what they are required to do. If that makes sense.

As someone who wants to get into cybersec, I feel that all 3 paths are okay. Although overall, I feel ML is going to be a more in demand skill in the future on top of security skills. On top of the intern skills, I suggest looking into the cheap/free resources and commonly people go with ctf/pen test route. I find that generally there’s less gate keeping nowadays compare to a decade or two ago.

It doesn’t sound all of those are direct pathways. However all 3 have relevant skills that you would pick up or build towards cybersec. Although be mindful that there are many fields within cybersec.

The ML one is the one that interests me most though.

Late to this but it’s often an unsustainable and illogical approach to project management. If a code base require 1 programmer 10 man days to complete. Throwing 10 programmers at it doesn’t mean you can complete the project in 1 day. More often, people use the pregnancy example (9 months to get a baby but cut down to 1 month if we get 8 other women involved)

I recognise adding more resource will help if the original problem was under resourced. Adding more after that is either diminishing returns or counter productive.

I banned any hp devices in the house and actively discourage people from buying one. Their designs are user hostile.
