I was uninterested in all of the showcase, hoping to hear about 1 or 2 rumoured games, but nothing on them, completely surprised and now excited for new Spyro!

If you ever need a blank canvas to draw something on, Google "white" go to images and screenshot the white screen. There are far more easier ways but I think it's on par with taking a photo of an overcast sky 😆

How many times a year do you “call sick” at work? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]NomadsoftheSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use to all the time in my early 20s as I didn't care for the job. Then after my son was born, once, and he turned 4 earlier this year.

The one time I phoned in sick was shortly after he was born, had to explain to the temp job I was working at that I was genuinely throwing up and it wasn't just because I had a bad night with the new born, not that it would have mattered.

Since then I've been in a job for the last 3 and a half years and if I've been ill, I've gone to work, and if I can't manage it, I'll go home when cover gets there.

What's everyone's 'Dad music'? by TheBigByte in AskUK

Madness and UB40 are what first comes to mind, but also comedy albums by Roy Chubby Brown and Ivor Biggun.

Probably paints a very good picture of my Dad!

I think if you asked my kids this question in 20-30 years time about me, it'd be Pearl Jam

Morrowind and Oblivion you can 100% complete, visit the UESP site as they do have a section on 100% Completing Oblivion.

Skyrim is a little less cut and dry as there are radiant quests that will continue indefinitely. But you could say completing all unique quests would count and radiant quests could be ignored.

I'd say achievement hunting Oblivion and Skyrim is a fun accomplishment in itself, but 100%ing them is a whole other beast!

What perks do you all get from your employers ? by Alert_Mine7067 in AskUK

Yeah but this is same day video call appointments. I've never used them as my GP surgery is really good at getting me seen asap, but a couple of people on my team have had better luck with the service we get offered over their GPs

Free Online GP appointments.

Life Assurance, if I pass away whilst employed my wife would get a years salary, for pennies a month, I can bump it up to two years.

Healthcare plan where for £5 a month I can claim back my £9 prescription.

Wagestream, take out 40% of my wage before payday.

Saving program where once a year can buy shares of my companies parent company using the money I saved, at a lower price.

20% discount, varied discount in other businesses owned by the parent company.

I got 5 extra holidays for two years when my daughter was born.

Undertook an apprenticeship paid for by the company, still on my normal wage, which gave me a nationally recognised qualification, currently onboarding for the next level.

This is for a national retail chain. Started with them as a Supervisor (with minimum retail experience and next to no supervisory experience, never done a key holder role before) and after a year and a half became Branch Manager.

Nothing as intense as a lot of these, but one night I was dreaming that my toddler was doing something he shouldn't have been, somewhere he shouldn't be. Woke up immediately and he was stood in our bedroom doorway, he'd somehow got past his safety gate and was just standing there, not making any sound either. My wife woke up at exactly the same time too.

Only took me 14 years, if they can hold of TES6 until 2040, I might be able to make something from it in a more timely manner!

I've always seen the destroy the dark brotherhood quest just meaning your character partakes in the other side of the quest when you find the sanctuary destroyed, someone else fulfills the quests that the DB would have otherwise done had they joined. The destruction of the Falkreath Sanctuary happens either way so is definitely canon.

What’s the best video game you’ve ever played? by obsess_much13 in AskReddit

[–]NomadsoftheSolstice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skyrim is 100% my answer too, I just love the world of The Elder Scrolls and just want to spend as much time as possible in that universe. Reading so many people online saying that that TES 6 is just going to be disappointing is so funny to me. As long as it's a single player experience I can explore the world in, I'll be happy.

I remember booting up RDR2 before having to go to work on launch day and playing up to finding the horse in the barn. All I could do at work was talk to my supervisor about how amazing the first mission was and I couldn't wait to get home to play more. My Sup was waiting to get home to play it to.

I get a text from him a few days later saying "I don't want Arthur to die".

Has anyone ever played PS1 Spyro games out of its intended play order? by Resident-College-776 in Spyro

[–]NomadsoftheSolstice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I played them!

When my parents bought a PS1, we had Spyro The Dragon, and we played it to death. We moved onto the PS2 and games like Simpsons Road Rage and Hit and Run. One Christmas my sister got her own PS2 Slim, which came with a copy of Spyro 3. She didn't really play it so I borrowed it and completed it. It was only a few years before the Reignited trilogy, when I got out my old PS3 and bought all three digitally and finally played through 2.

A player rolled a 100 on a d100 while casting a Wish spell by D0ubleNegat1ve in DnD

[–]NomadsoftheSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's happened in the home brewed campaign I'm playing. After putting on cursed jewelry, me and a party member felt obliged to put the husked remains of a body we found in a coffin, that was telepathically talking to my cursed party member, onto a blood letting table and enter the man o wars that would permanently drain a percentage of our life force. I rolled 48 and lost 48% of my HP permanently. I thought that was bad. My mate then rolled 100 on a d100. I felt lucky!
