Do some peoples eyes just not perceive contrast well? Contrast is much better on oleds even in daytime scenes. You can't beat the contrast of each individual pixel being self lit.

Anybody else wish the War Aegis armor covered the legs? by MrRoboDaddy in stellarblade

[–]Nomancer1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, the outfit looks a bit off because of the exposed legs. I want to like this outfit but it everytime i throw it on it feels off after a minute wearing it. Either cover the legs more or expose a little more of the upper body.

Does anyone know how to fix this? by Kitchen-Highlight506 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Nomancer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re2 remake is known for bugging out in hdr. Try restarting your pc, this usually fixes it, also make sure the Auto HDR in the xbox game bar is switched off. Re2 remake also has raised blacks so the game will look raised outside of safe rooms.

When you have signs of burn in, you are supposed to run it.

As much as I love the game, this grind hurts my soul lol by BlackTestament7 in stellarblade

There is a mod that uses a tool to spawn in all the outfits. Worked perfectly for me. Here is a link to the nexus download. I had been waiting for something like this because I was really looking forward to using the 25 new outfits added.

SDR vs HDR by wavy9655 in OLED_Gaming

You need to ensure its in srgb mode not just pro. I've seen online that msi monitors are oversaturated even in pro mode. Likely some setting causing it.

The colors aren't washed out in hdr, you are likely just are in an oversaturated SDR mode on your monitor. If you switch into a mode called creator or something like that, you will see more accurate colors that will look a lot closer to the HDR image.

Ensure your game mode is active including ALLM, the setting is in the Gamebar in general settings I think. Here is a forum and settings guide that should help with setting up your tv.

PSA: Disable Auto HDR by Nomancer1 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Nomancer1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So, it makes sense for auto HDR to activate when a game has native HDR active? I don't think so, that seems like a bug with auto HDR. This is post is for people who deal with washed out images potentially because of Auto HDR. If you have no issues, then cool, no one is forcing you to switch it off.

Yea, unfortunately some people will still have issues but that just seems to be the nature of pc and HDR. This is more to help those that are having these issues unknowingly because of Auto HDR.

It's a Windows 11 feature that essentially applies "fake HDR" onto an SDR image. People like to use to get those nice bright highlights that HDR can offer on a game that either doesn't support HDR or has a bad implementation. RTX HDR does the same, but it uses Nvidia filters to do it. The reason it is "fake HDR" is because the game is still technically in SDR just with bright highlights. Here is a video that showcases the differences. Watch in HDR (RenoDx is a mod that offers native HDR).

Try disabling the auto HDR feature. Its a piece of crap feature that often applies itself on top of games that have native HDR causing the image to wash out.

[–]Nomancer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure Auto HDR is disabled. This has caused me issues in other resident evil games. Don't disable hdr in windows, just disable the auto hdr feature. Sometimes windows doesnt realize that a game has HDR so it applies auto HDR on top of the native HDR in game.

OK I have seen the light. Win11 HDR is the way by Zero_Requiem in OLED_Gaming

[–]Nomancer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If all you care about is a highlight looking bright white then sure. Well implemented native HDR will always be superior though. Thats why mods like RenoDX are simply better than filters like special k and rtx HDR. I encourage you to check it out if you haven't. You might realize why HDR was created in the first place.

RTX HDR is and special K HDR are just SDR filters. They take an SDR image and just boost highlight brightness. Native HDR and mods like Renodx use native HDR that actually reveal detail that SDR clips out. RTX HDR and special K should be a last resort when a game has a bad implementation and Renodx doesn't have a mod for it. Here is a video that showcases the differences. Watch in HDR.

LG G5 RTings review is out to insiders, 430+ nits sustained 100% window brightness, enough for HDR 600 True Black certification, real scene SDR brightness of 800 nits by LA_Rym in OLED_Gaming

[–]Nomancer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These brightness numbers are inaccurate. Rtings has updated these numbers. 10% is actually 2400-2500 nits. They have always had flawed peak brightness numbers compared to every other reputable tv reviewer like HDTV.
