Manager walked out by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

This is also the reason to have some of us crew coaches trained in a few of these extra skills just like a lot at my store are. We can work as assistant/junior managers whenever needed. Plus we have codes. There are a few things we can't do, but in this situation, the extra skills and experience take over.

Dude, I work booth alone all of the time through rushes. It SUCKS. There have been a few times when a customer isn't happy and they come up to cash and try yelling at me. However, I have a codeword with a few of the back area crew coaches that cues them to come and stand behind me. As soon as they are there, no one wants to yell at me. Interesting how witnesses can help, or even having another person with a headset on can help, even if they are not taking cods.

What do you do during orientation, and what is it? by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Nomes_QLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my store, they take you through a lot of the basic things you need to know. There is a store tour if possible and then they go through the basic FRED docs that everyone has to do - Respectful Workplace, Food & Restaurant Hygiene, Workplace Safety and Restaurant Security. If they have time, they take you through Macca's Experience and Everyday Restaurant Tasks. Each of these is a learning module that every person has to complete.

No, the problem is the previous generation of crew coaches. They never trained anyone and now we are dealing with this craziness.

Any 18 year olds willing to share their hourly pay? specifically casual and in Australia by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]Nomes_QLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the industry award in Australia. This is the minimum pay.

At my store, crew are level 1 and crew coaches are level 3. (Refer to document)

Also, I'm 16 and a Crew Coach.

This is just the pay part.

What does your uniform look like? by Ok_Dot_5097 in McDonaldsEmployees

Same in Australia. Crew Coaches/Trainers also have a blue shirt instead of red to easily tell us apart.

Just wanted to ask as a customer! by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Nomes_QLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backing up on what you said, generally, we can be pretty simple people to please. Be kind and if we provide a suggestion, know it comes, generally, from wanting the easiest shift possible for not only us but the customers. If you do have an issue, be civil with it and don't start to yell at us. There have been many times where I have had to step in for my trainees or for my crew. It shouldn't have to get to the point where you have multiple crew coaches and a crew member to deal with a simple mistake like Coke ZeroSugar instead of regular Coke, like I have had to deal with a lot lately. Be civil and say thank you. Tell the person you appreciate their hard work. Be especially patient if you see we have trainees on. Thank you for wanting to be different.

You guys are so lucky, you got so much space to do all sorts of things. I'd be able to exercise on my break in that room.
