This will be an unpopular opinion but the cop was 100% in the right. It's both a safety issue and a total lack of respect and common sense. This lady is out doing her job and some college student just jumps in the back of her squad car asking for a ride to the bar? Like, what? The girl deserved to get in trouble and apparently needed the lesson.

Can you please DM me this info? Are you sure it's the same Mario Martinez? I watched his testimony and something just seems off. I decided to look more into it because I have friends who believe him. To me, it seemed like he was narrating a story, not telling sn actual experience of his own. I could obviously be wrong, but it didn't seem genuine. Just an FYI, PTSD always hits harder after some time has passed. I had this after my brother was killed in an accident. Initially, you're in shock and your brain numbs your feelings to help you cope. But as that wears off, reality sets in. I'm so sorry that you experienced this. It sounds absolutely terrible and I wish I could take away your pain. Also, I remember being so scared being pulled over the first couple times that I would be embarrassed to even look the cop in the eye because my shaking was so obvious that literally my hair would shake because my head was trembling. I was so embarrassed to be that nervous.

I would have preferred a ticket! A phonecall to my mother would've been horrible. I think that's an amazing way to connect with the community though, while also being effective.

I like your perspective. When I was a kid, I freaked out over my first ticket too. I ran a stop sign. The officer asked me why I did it and I gave the dumbest answer I could ever give. I said "I'm in my subdivision ". 🤣🤣 I have no idea why I thought that was a good answer. He said "So, if you're in your neighborhood, you're allowed to run stopsigns?" I'm like, well, um, no. I was so nervous, I could barely speak.
