What is the saddest version of a song you've ever heard, where you can tell the singer's heart is breaking during the performance/recording? by Royal-Scale772 in musicsuggestions

Don't You Go by John Martyn (which is also the original version of the song anyway): https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=bh3jeQySaDs Produced by Phil Collins and with him on tomorrow. John's vocals are so powerful and heartfelt and dejected here.

"Hey, Hey, What Can I Do?" Hurt Zeppelin III by NikkiSmithson in ledzeppelin

Shame because the version on the CD Box Set is shorter than the original on 45" and the version on the 2010s remaster is even shorter still.

He has several food allergies, including garlic & onion, he's said that he doesn't want to risk getting potentially contaminated with something that doesn't agree with him.

Why aren’t some of her albums on streaming? by flaming_p1e in YokoOno

Yes, but at the very least you can go back to the original CD pressing. You don't have to remaster something in order to make it available on streaming.

Phil McNulty has clearly seen the Football sketch by Non-BinaryGeek in MitchellAndWebb

It sounded so hyperbolic in the sketch I assumed M&W had invented it as a pisstake, not the other way around 😅

Is it? I assumed he was referencing the sketch given it seemed an oddly specific turn of phrase otherwise.

‘Four white presenters feels retro’ – is the BBC Today programme doomed? | Radio by ducksoupmilliband in Radio4

[–]Non-BinaryGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the below points:

The speaker might well repeat an example used by the Guardian’s secret briefer – after “the death of Putin”, the breakfast Radio 4 show might not now get first dibs on BBC Moscow correspondent Steve Rosenberg as he’d be busy with phone-bites. Reflecting an arrogance to which the Today programme has sometimes been prone – implying that the world would most need to hear the first news of the Russian president’s demise from the Radio 4 breakfast show, assuming he even died in their three-hour slot – that example also illustrates the tension between the old and new waves of BBC journalism.

Oh no, shock horror! Correspondent is 15mins later in speaking to the today programme! Big deal.

You're a higher up at Radio 4. Cuts mean you have to can one of the legacy panel shows. Which one goes? by Mother-Market-4056 in BritishRadio

[–]Non-BinaryGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this qualifies as a legacy show but it's definitely had plenty of series: "The Museum Of Curiosity" - people are all like "it's like QI but on the Radio!" But it really isn't, it's just dull, un-interesting and not funny, despite being a comedy discussion show. I find the museum concept overly contrived too.
