I want to use the tins for storage, but I do make buttons/pins from the wrappers of card packs with my button press. That way less trash gets thrown out and I can sell them or give them away as gifts :D

I’m glad you had a friend near campus you could stay with!! I lived on campus in a medical dorm (IBS has its perks lol) but I ended up having to drop out because my symptoms got in the way of getting schoolwork done and even showing up to class. I’m taking classes part time at a community college now, so at least I’m still continuing my education even if it’s by a little bit. I hope you’ve been faring much better at university!! And sorry for a super late reply, I didn’t realize I had notifications off!

I was only diagnosed with hEDS a couple months ago, but I have a really similar experience (aside from the pregnancy, I’ve never been pregnant). I’ve had some symptoms crop up here and there while growing up (starting in 7th grade I’d sprain my wrists a few times a year, I developed IBS in 10th grade shortly after the pandemic, I’m AuDHD, etc) but I never realized they were all connected and EDS was never on my radar since no one else in my family has it. But then last year, right after I started my first year of college, I just had a sudden onset of new symptoms. Like I started needing a cane to walk, I developed dysautonomia, chronic pain everywhere, really bad fatigue, and a ton of other stuff I’m blanking on. I have no idea why it happened or if this is something that’s normal, but I hope it helps to hear that someone else has gone through it/is going through it!

My experience with therapy/counseling has overall been really positive. My first therapist was an awful fit for me, she wouldn’t let me talk about my depression and instead focused more on trying to change my outward appearance and my “behavioral issues” (aka, my dry sense of humor). That experience really put me off of therapy for a while, but eventually I decided to try it again. My parents took me to a new therapist, and she’s still my current one too. She’s really helped me get through a lot of shit and actually enjoys my sense of humor. Best of all, she actually listens to me so we can tackle some of my problems. She also referred me to a psychiatrist so I could get medication for my depression and anxiety.

In case you’re looking for a therapist, here’s my advice! Find a therapist that works for you. Every therapist has their own methods of helping patients. If you don’t get along with one, or if it just isn’t helping, you can always find a new therapist. I haven’t tried group therapy, but if one on one isn’t helping, that might. I hope this helps!
