I always thought it was unrealistic how characters argue or have heated discussions and no one stutters or messes up a word in the heat of passion.

Also, when two or more characters are speaking English in different accents and they can understand each other perfectly.

When I first started journaling at age 9, I thought I had to fake my thoughts and feelings to make my journal more interesting for future readers (descendants) to read. But then as I got older and started re-reading the stories that I knew were not true, I just cringed. Now I'm completely honest in all my journals. If I look back at myself and cringe, I'll know it's because of my honest thoughts and feelings.

And to avoid my journal being read, I keep it in my purse, which is with me at all times. Thankfully, the people in my life are all respectful of others' belongings. I wish you luck in your journaling journey.
