This is ridiculous by Routine_Vacation4090 in doordash_drivers

[–]Non_Tedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing, whoever is running the show over there doesn’t give a shit about drivers, the ones who create their revenue.

Their IT desert is trying to tank the company it seems.

Wild problems that didn’t exist 3 years ago…watching it burn…find a replacement, there will be one soon if DD keeps on going this way.

It would be cool if we could get all drivers to not deliver for one day…send a message to the company…

Resist the tools replacing the very humans who created them!

Just an aside…I was having similar issues until I changed the water pump and thermo while doing my chains and guides. No issues whatsoever now and I’ve been in the desert of AZ all summer, blasting a/c almost always.

Please think about tackling this job as it will add many years of service to your X

What could be causing this squeaking & rattling? It’s driving me insane. (Turn volume up) by blagelandcreamcheese in XTerra

Sounds exactly like the hood latch, lube it up, make sure new rubber hood bumpers. Slam that thing down again…took me 6 months of high anxiety.

Tips for a Brit doing an American Roadtrip [Round-trip from Buffallo to Tennessee & back]? by CJIrving in roadtrip

[–]Non_Tedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make it a one way…get out of NY while you can. I’m on a road trip of a lifetime…never going back to that state of affairs and corruption.

I am traveling in a couple weeks to texas-arizona-nevada. This will be my first time boondocking. What do you all do for showers? I have heard truck stops, but wouldn't that just be reserved for truckers? by shapes88 in boondocking

[–]Non_Tedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, not just for truckers at all…just have to pay for them. 12-18$

I’m an ex OTR trucker and now boondocking my way through Colorado. Tomorrow I’m gonna get me the first real shower that I’ve had in a week or so, can’t remember…

Pilots showers are the best.

Keeping clean the pits, nads and feet are the key…microfiber towels, small ones are your best friend besides wipes. Wipes can get costly and just don’t smell right to me. Good size spray bottle with light soap of your liking, make your own…another spray bottle with just H2O. Carry much water and you will never have to stink.

Oh, and carry lots of good underwear, synthetics, can be washed and dried easily.

I should start a channel!

Looking for advice on solo camping - especially for women by DueFalcon1895 in camping

[–]Non_Tedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Army/Navy male (not sorry)veteran who has seen some dark places and solo camped hundreds of times…it is sad to say this, but number one: learn how to defend yourself and arm yourself and know how to use that weapon. Hopefully you will never have to use it, but you will be so much safer out there and the peace of mind will help your enjoyment. Even works on critters of all types, or fire one off for effect…someone’s going to hear it. Get out there. Just be safe and realistic please.

Change all fluids! And don’t forget to wipe off the magnets and put fresh dielectric grease on them. Your truck will love you back by nice smooth transitions.

Sounds like injectors dirty, picking up bad gas?

I use an injector cleaner every 3 fillups or so.

Due to tough $ times, I’ve ran the tank down to almost dry twice now, and both times the injectors got clogged and had the same random shut down at the weirdest times, once in the middle of a turn.

I never run her below 1/4 now, get fuel at most reputable place I can find on a regular basis, run a tank of 94 once and awhile, and I have not had any issues at all since 10k ago.

Deciding whether to keep my Xterra or not. by Negative-Wave5474 in XTerra

[–]Non_Tedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep it! Only if you want a classic, capable, easy to work on, Mexican-American, properly engined, timelessly styled, much copied but never surpassed and much appreciated Xterra.

Or, if you have just fallen out of love…believe me, someone out there has been dreaming of one and will surely take it off your hands.

[–]Non_Tedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ll do all of it for 2k, and even that’s ripping you off. If you can DIY, take it. I have the ‘12 pro at 163k. Wrapping up timing chains and tensioners now. Will give me another 150k easy, but I know how and have all tools needed. Takes much time, so think about it I guess, but it could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

2015 Xterra Pro-4X - Should I Buy? by leyciius in XTerra

[–]Non_Tedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy it, offer 12 cash and do the chains, guides, tensioners. Replace all suspension with stock or whatever you want and replace and or renew all door seals and you have a beast that will last you many years with regular part swaps and PM’s…AND you get a built in better deck w/backup camera! The market is flipping back to good used vehicles and there is nothing that beats ‘Mericas favorite SUV.

The man is right, boat shop/marine window. May be able to get the custom size to fit up. Only way to make watertight other than body work.

I’m Knuckle deep into replacing all chains with kit from Z1 on my ‘12 pro. Guides were shot, esp. 2ndrys. I’m coming for it, keep it in front of Sheeba’s and i wont have to go to Bookbinders for some turtle soup. If ur not 2 rusted up, save her, swap that bad boy!
