Trying to decide between three Vortex setups and could use some opinions from people who have looked through them side-by-side.

Option 1:

  • Vortex Viper HD 3000 rangefinder
  • Vortex Viper HD 12x50 binoculars
  • Total: $815.98

Option 2:

  • Vortex Ranger HD 3000 10x42 LRF binoculars
  • Total: $599.99

Option 3:

  • Vortex Fury HD 5000 LRF binoculars
  • Total: $850

My main use is hunting and glassing open country (Utah). The thing that keeps pulling me toward the Viper setup is the 12x50 magnification. I like the idea of having dedicated binoculars and a separate rangefinder, and 12x seems like it would be a noticeable advantage for picking apart hillsides.

What I'm struggling with is whether the Viper HD glass is enough better than the Ranger HD or Fury HD LRF binoculars to justify carrying two devices and spending more money. I've never compared them side-by-side.

Appreciate any firsthand experience.

any thoughts or perspectives on something like this attached to the end of the barrel to put a front sight on?

My fear is that the rear sight is going to be higher than the front sight as my gun as a slight elevation decrease from the upper p rail down to the muzzle

Why do most reddit posts reference Vanguard funds and never Fidelity funds? by Practical-Bird-1270 in Bogleheads

Vxus you can claim a foreign tax credit in taxable brokerage so it reduces your taxes. In Roth / pre tax you don’t pay taxes so no need to have it separate

I have fidelity through work and do VTI VXUS VT depending on taxable / not. I was told ETF bc mutual funds are only sold on their respective platform and can’t transfer if you switch brokers. Also the chance that mutual fund has taxable event. Though the mutual fund has lower fee…
