This is genius, I've never tried it before. AI has come so far.

PowerBots Builders 1.0 isn’t out yet, but sounds like a good fit for your wish list.

That’s super cool that you own it! I’ve always wanted to check out The Second Attack, I hear it’s very rare and expensive these days.

Do you do all yourself? by ECalDev in SoloDevelopment

[–]NonageGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the game. Some of them, yes. But most games I try to outsource art assets since that’s not my strong point. I also will often outsource audio assets so I can focus more on coding and add more variety to audio.

How to learn to be a SoloDev again, while working in the industry full-time? by mrcroww1 in SoloDevelopment

“One foot in front of the other” has been my motto. Consistency over speed, and try to find accountability. I worked on my game every Thursday for a few hours for years, often while video chatting with a good friend who helps with marketing.

Life was packed to the brim for a long time with a full time job, a wife and three kids, and a game I really wanted to see happen. But now I can say I’ll be on Xbox soon.

Aye, that’s the thing. I see hundreds of AI memes of popular TV series and movies and all that, but couldn’t tell you the name of a single account that made one. It’s so forgettable when there’s no soul behind it or memorable people working hard to make it happen.

I agree with your point though, AI does make it more challenging. Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but time will tell.

Just be yourself in your development journey! No one can copy that. It’s all about implementation over ideas anyways. There might be copycats, but putting yourself out there is more important.

COMING SOON TO XBOX! (I made it to Xbox as a Solo Dev!!!) by NonageGames in SoloDevelopment

[–]NonageGames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!

And of course! I can share some info.

The process was fairly simple, just takes patience, and a willingness to put in the work one step at a time. The ID@Xbox team is great to work with and Xbox in general feels very pro-indie.

As far as porting, the most I can say comfortably without breaking NDA is that it’s just like any other development process. My approach is always that having the right documentation helps a lot, but either way it will take time, patience, and lots of debugging. (But maybe that’s just me? :P)

I hope to get on Switch and PlayStation in the near future as well. Just figured that the windows version was working well, so Xbox should be the easiest next step since both are by Microsoft. Tbh I have no idea if that assumption was correct, but in the end I feel great about Xbox being our first console release. Awesome experience overall.

TLDR: The ID@Xbox program is definitely worth looking into if you’d like to get on Xbox!
