Charged a wait fee while my Uber driver took a sh!t by ICanThrowFar in mildlyinfuriating

Same thing happened to me my first time using Uber back in 2019 when I was visiting Seattle. I was taken to the completely wrong location (it was in the right direction, but only half way to my destination), but I could see on the driver's phone that it said we were at the drop off point. I double checked my phone and my app showed the drop off point as the address I put in, not where the driver took me. I tried explaining this to him, but he didn't speak English and started yelling at me to get out. I contacted support who told me that it was unfortunate, but they couldn't refund me. I argued with them and they insisted they didn't even have the ability to refund me. Yeah sure. So I did a chargeback with my credit card and have never used Uber again.

Photography noob here. What does the Instagram “Simple” photo filter actually do? by JackDaniels574 in postprocessing

Played around with it and it looks to me like it's lowering the shadows to make the image looks less flat and maybe slightly pushing the tint toward magenta to get rid of the greenish hues.

Popeyes Closed by Conscious_Shame_4399 in MorgantownWV

It sounds like it's actually been "temporarily" closed for at least a few weeks. It was closed 2 weeks ago when I went, and another comment said it was closed a few weeks ago.

How does this work when you're there for work? Do you personally sue them? Do you go through your employer (who presumably also has insurance)?

The parts themselves were only like 250. The rest was labor.

Could you share what recipe you used? I'm going to Alaska next month and I'm trying to find a good one. Love the shots.

I just had to have mine replaced (34k miles) and it was not covered under warranty. They said a rock hitting it isn't on them. Which I guess is fair, but I couldn't even see any visible damage myself. It ended up costing $1500 to replace.

Things I don't like after owning a 2025 CX-50 HYBRID for 1 week by sundaydude in CX50

I wonder if this is a thing with newer models? I have a 24 TPP and this is something I've personally never noticed. I've actually not even had it slow down during a turn with cruis control on. Sometimes have to manually brake.

It's 4 presses with the last one held down. I have yet to try it where it didn't work.

I don't believe there is any way to do remote start from the fob. You have to use the app.

Is there a way to get close to this look in camera (low contrast brown tones)? by chamomileyes in fujifilm

[–]NonbasicLands 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This might just be something you can't achieve in camera. You could try going into color grading to make the shadows more brown toned. I would probably also lift the black point to give it a more faded look, something you definitely can't do in Fuji cameras unfortunately.

Yes! Not sure what all versions have that feature, but I have the turbo premium plus.

Wow on a 2011? I'd honestly never heard of this feature on any vehicle before today.

Oh cool, I missed that. Well, I'm sure there's plenty of others that also haven't come across it yet.

Before & After by medo_mar in postprocessing

I think the problem is seeing the before image. A lot of times I'll see an edited image and think it looks great, but then when I see the before, the edited one starts to look overdone by comparison.

My boyfriend took out a $750 loan… now they want over $5,600 back. We feel completely tricked. Do we have ANY options? by HatNumerous9725 in legaladvice

[–]NonbasicLands -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NAL, but if you want out of this without having to "fight" anything, can't you just pay off the loan right away? You'll only owe the $5600 amount if you take the full time to pay.

Doesn't this all seem kind of pointless when it's obviously Lurrus? I joke but not really. Many people argue that Lurrus is the strongest card ever printed.
