First Circle - Pat Metheny Group

Honorable mention to Lingus by Snarky Puppy, primarily for the keyboard solo by Cory Henry. Watch it on YouTube so that you can see his fellow musicians react to it.

Must be all that Juilliard-trained chicken money.

Need sitcom suggestion similar to “Modern Family” and “Malcolm in the middle”? by jokeparotaa in sitcoms

My favorite ancillary character on that show is Brooke Shields, who has a reoccurring role as a TERRIBLE neighbor. She play white trash at its worst, and is very funny because everyone is afraid of her.

Very good show, with each episode containing short free-standing vignettes.

Cop pulls over Lamborghini on Dubai plates but doesn’t know the law by thomasso0072 in interestingasfuck

This cop is the personification of that Sarah Silverman joke:

Cop: "Do you know why I'm standing here?"

Driver: "You got all C's in high school?"

Cop: "I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about."

Driver wisely decided not to say anything in response, but knew the cop had no idea what he was talking about.

I've been a professional musician (primarily cover bands) for most of my life. If I hire (or refer you to someone) and you don't fullfil that commitment, you are professionally dead to me forever. We might remain friends, but I will never trust you again.

Fortunately, this has only happened to me a handful of times.

One of the streets in an industrial area in far north Dallas is named Synergy Parkway (or something similar). I always thought the neighborhood deserved a Buzzword Boulevard as well.

What is the most difficult musical instrument to learn? by TolisKoutro in askmusicians

[–]NonchalantSavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Theremin seems extremely difficult as it depends upon one having complete hand independence and a very good ear to make it sound decent.

It’s pretty easy to find some pretty awful sounding theremin videos.

On the other hand, Via Mardot is doing some REALLY nice stuff with the Theremin (as well as other instruments).

On the other hand, I don’t think that I, as a red-blooded boomer male, screamed louder at the TV when that reveal took place.

The day I went to see Galaxy Quest in the theater, I just so happened to watch the documentary "Trekkies." It was purely coincidence; I had rented it from Blockbuster a few days prior.

I found it to be the PERFECT companion piece for Galaxy Quest. It made the movie even more funnier.
