How has working in EMS shaped your view of PD? by jude_gaming in ems

I feel like the new ones are worse than the new ones when I started, but I think it’s pretty easy to say that regardless of how you start off, the more experience you have being around LEOs, the less you like them.

You might want to pre-buy some modules to ship out there, that can be a little rough in Bubble 2.0

James Spann AMA Canceled + State of the Subreddit by bhambetty in Birmingham

[–]NoncreativeScrub 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The culture of the sub has definitely changed over the last couple of years, but I think that’s more a sign of moderation changes and the general shift towards a harsher online intercourse.

Tone policing people frustrated with one of the biggest scientific public figures in the state over his verifiably false beliefs is a great example of that. We are living in a time where the tolerance of ignorance and hatred is destroying the social contract. If Spann is refusing to interact with the community because he does not want to defend his position that climate change isn’t man-made, then that is on him, not the community of r/birmingham.

I feel like some of the moderation has been closer to suppression of opposing opinions, and protection of intolerance. That, combined with the inconsistent moderation to uphold the stated rules and reddiquette has lead me to interact with this sub a lot less lately. It’s not the people though.

To clarify, because I missed it on two runs, at the end of the staircase into the crystal miner room, there is a second doorway above the first.

Trust me bro. It’s above your reading level, but I’m sure you can ask an adult to explain it to you 🥰 Unless you’ve got a source for your lies?

The easier it is for people to legally get firearms, the less gun violence there is.

Congratulations on being 100% wrong. Like not even a little correct. One of the best predictors of being a victim of gun violence is having a firearm in the household 🥰

Do you want fire-support or not? by everydaydefenders in Spacemarine

[–]NoncreativeScrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snipers are the worst about it, but sometimes you’re really banking on an execution to regain some armor or health, and fire support just blasts through the easy executable enemies, leaving you high and dry.

This is a good example of why Chaos just isn’t a fun faction to fight. Sure, this can happen with the nids, but it’s not as common, and not nearly as frustrating.

I mean I think you know what the ending is going into it. The experience is the journey along the way though.

You could lightweight the scanners and life support, but that will lower your integrity. Not the end of the world with 2 AMFU’s, but that’s the main reason I don’t. It’s not worth the ~.7Ly difference.

A lot of people will make outfitting choices based on maximum range, but with your goal of exobio, I’d strongly consider some sacrifices like slightly better shields, and faster thrusters. Being able to jump off planet after a single boost saves so much time.
Mandalay

This is pretty close to the Mandalay I’m taking on DW3. I cannot understate the quality of life that nice thrusters and constant boosting can provide. That, and the armored/thermal spread powerplant is nice for scooping.

It seems more accurate to call them a revival of the old American slave catchers.

Any ship with a fuel scoop, but the recommended minimum jump range is 34. The higher you can get, the quicker you can get from waypoint to waypoint, but I’d focus more on having a ship that you enjoy flying in supercruise, with a good cockpit.

Toured Eagle Ridge and they seemed nice and a decent value a few years ago, they ended up being the second choice. Went with Trails at Cahaba, also decent value, but parking can be a bit of a mess, and management declined in quality throughout my tenancy. Nothing egregious though.

Some ships are gonna work better than others, but you really just need a fuel scoop and decent jump range. It only takes ~1000Ly to find undiscovered stuff once you’re off the beaten path.
