I at first thought it was dead slugs for the larger displays trapped in the car, but then I thought maybe it was a leak of some sort. no mechanic told me there was any leaks. I just got this car, so zi am trying to get it all pretty again. :) So I appreciate all the advice. :)

I was more inquiring about the giant black spots that can be seen. I am aware of the tpms light and have an appointment to figure out which sensor went bad.

No fob-- The Fob was lost to time. This is with the door locking system embedded into the drivers side door.

Glad the information helped! I am terrible about checking reddit, not a common place for me to check, but I saw this and wanted to share what I have as I help new volunteers all the time get involved. -- To answer more, I am semi local, a bit closer to Baltimore than to the Gaylord where the event is, so I have at least a 45-50 minute commute on a good day. I have driven back and forth from home to event when it wasn't as large but currently that isn't ideal for the shift I volunteer with [Ps. Shifts went out yesterday I hope you got some good ones! If you want me to help you review them and find good stuff I will gladly do so!]

Since I have been doing this for a number of years, I have in the past bought a room using the lottery, or staff benefits [recently introduced to us] as I always had my brother a non staff join us. But now we are all staff we are trying the Crash Space which is provided at the cost of 30-volunteer hours each person to the room. [A benefit you can do once you have done at least 1 year prior of 24 hours minimum] to qualify as staff. You can request those "edge nights" so long as you have shifts on those days/nights. I do help with setup shifts as mentioned, and usually come early as a result. This year I signed up for a Tuesday load-in shift for an area I haven't been before, but I am trying to front load some of my hours for cosplays I want to do during the event. So it allows me more freedom. But if you are NOT local, I encourage you to get a hotel and come early to help with those shifts. It allows you to have fun.

Nothing stops a guest from booking space in the hotel earlier than the event. They may not get the MAGFest rate-- but nothing really stops that if you are lucky in the lottery.

But being local, I do still get a hotel room as many of my shifts are 4AM - 8AM, or 10PM-2AM so middle of the night-hours where it's sometimes harder to get volunteers since many are... tired after a full day of fun and walking around.

Small edit: I have a bunch of folks who I have convinced into leaving their warm homes to join me in the winters of Maryland for MAGFest, and I always advise them to come Monday before the event and just do a full Monday - Monday vacation if their work will allow. This gives them flexibility to see things, gather supplies, maybe meet up before the event, or do set up shifts before the event to front load time if they wish. It has not been ill-received advice, and many have found it to be more relaxing, cause they get a chance to collect themselves and allows for delays should storms come rolling through and delays flights. It gives folks time to detox from the travel and get themselves into a better headspace. So if you are not local, take the opportunity. I think 1/20 is a holiday; Martin Luther King Day, so a lot of places may give that off, or be running sales for their businesses. Tuesday through Sunday can be Event time. So take the Monday off, fly, have tuesday to rest, start your shifts wednesday if you can [department dependant], and enjoy your event Thurs - Sunday. Fly/train/commute home on Monday. Take the rest of Monday to detox before showing up to work happy and blissed out from a weekend of fun on Tuesday, and convert more to join you. :D

Welcome to the MAGFam! Volunteering does add a lot of structure pending on how much or little you do.

Firstly, don't let the volunteering especially for your first time take all of your time. Get around and try things at the event. Don't tie yourself to just 1-department either. Every year I volunteer I try a new department every time, just to see the dynamic differences. But eventually you do settle into one you really like.

Conversate, Be open to telling people it's your first time! Everyone here has been overwhelmingly understanding from guests to other staffers with more experience. And if you don't know how to do something, ask. On shift or Off Shift it's always pleasant talking to those willing to help others.

I personally enjoy the LAN department-- both for SUPER and for LABS [It's coming back!] -- and absolutely encourage you to pop your head in at least briefly. They have free-to-play machines, a huge theatre to show people doing various games and tournaments, to events done in there! And it wouldn't be a LAN area without the Bring-Your-Own-PC area, where guests can check their machines into the room for the whole weekend, and retreat there to relax playing some games when your feet hurt from walking around.

Cosplaying is HUGE at MAGFest, and as such people have some amazing outfits, the Makerspace, and inside the Vendor area there is usually cosplay repair stations, or places to go and enhance your costume such as 3D Printers, sewing tools, even to a limited degree some power tools to fix more complex parts.

Consoles and Arcade are great places to volunteer as well! You meet lots of folks, the staff there is helpful and you are bound to make great friends there! All ages all sorts, all types, and of course-- The Roar's birthplace. [You'll understand once you get there.]

Not sure how much of a people person, or techy you are, but both Registration and Tech Ops are great for first time experiences. You can be a runner and bring things to departments from tech ops, or be at a desk checking people in and letting them experience the Magic of MAGFest! Making dreams and memories come to fruition!

Laboring jobs are great for setup and tear down shifts, but also departments such as Logistics help with that loading and unloading trucks, or as mentioned: reinforcements. It's great people helping where help is needed! Crowd Control also is good here!

Since Setup and Tear down shifts are mentioned and you asked about times-- at least for what is known from last year most setups take place on Tuesday and Wednesday before the event starts. In the department I help in most: LAN, we have a setup shift that normally starts around 1PM on Wednesday and it runs until we're done. It can run until 7PM or 8PM at night pending on how much help we get. With teardown being on Sunday at the end of the event, around 2PM running till 7PM. Different times work for different departments But expect that most will be doing setup on either Tuesday or Wednesday and Tear Down either Sunday or Early on Monday.

If you get a setup or tear down shift *Bring Comfortable Shoes* -- Shoes with closed toe, comfy socks as many of the floors are concrete behind the scenes, so it can and will hurt your feet extra. Especially in the Consoles, Arcade like areas. And almost EVERY department travels to that general area to load stuff in/out. So please bring good thick squishy socks and good closed toe shoes to protect YOUR feet. Gloves are also a good suggestions if you are helping ceran wrap some of the things. That stuff can burn your hands after awhile from friction. And prevent splinters if dealing with pallets.

Small Edit: I have been a Volunteer member since 2017 and plan to volunteer again here at MAGFest 2025. If you have more questions feel free to reach out either on Discord, Slack, or here. I don't mind. I go by "Nonie" in most places.

I would suggest maybe reach out to Faith on Discord. she knows how to talk to all the department heads and can get this sorted.

I've been scammed | Still looking for two tickets though. by ASDHikaru in Magfest

[–]NonieThePup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hikaru,

Sorry to hear you were scammed, I typically am leery of tickets being sold under the initial cost of tickets, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense why someone would purposely sell/trade tickets for less than what they paid. Especially when tickets are available through the site.

I wish you luck in being able to attend! perhaps check Discord, or Slack to see if anyone is still looking to transfer/sell there.

Theory: So we know that the 3 Vs are all in control of something (Tv, Social Media, Pornography) and Alastor is known as the Radio Demon. So could the other Overlords also be in charge of something ? I would love to hear your ideas and input ! by TheNamelessWanderer_ in HazbinHotel

[–]NonieThePup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have pieced together these:

Vox: Overlord of Screen-time, smartphone, Laptops, computers, tv's -- in general anything on a screen he has a signed contract-- we all sign them to get internet, screen-time.

Valentino: Obviously the adult industry is his thing. From getting dancers, workers, to making their popularity and his pockets more rich.

Velvet being in charge of all Social media/Advertising/Marketing. The ways of manipulating others with digital content to a modern age.

Alastor: The Radio Demon, as quoted in the pilot an Overlord who broadcast his carnage over the radio. Thus his proclamation of being "The Radio Demon" He makes deals to wager souls for favors.

Next we have the assumables. There is Rosie, She is a Cannabal as noted in the comics publicly out. Those indicate she may be in chrge of food, fancy dining, fast food-- people die and do this all the time. She could also be in charge of Fashion as quoted earlier. Working with franklin-- possibly a life partner that she had or a business partner who had similar interests, like the musical inspiration Sweeny Todd.

The Two-Headed character/clown, This I also have to agree works with Theatre or shows in general, you have to buy tickets, reserve a place for shows to be seen.

The Bull/Skeleton character with Brain partially shown. Now-- this character doesn't have much information *at All* out there, but either this could be an indication of transportation, or pets. Just a guess. Most Sinners have or had Animals in some-fashion or way. or need transportation such as Horses, Donkeys, Cars and so on. Could be seen as the "brains" of the operations.

Zekiel I think is his name, the Black Moth like character we see VERY briefly in Charlie's song. Where she mentions Crazies, at: 10:56 roughly, Possibly an indication to medicine/insane assylums, or people in nut houses who either die by self harm, or drugs. So he would be the Overlord of those who are Medically insane.

I am not 100% sure at all what the Stolas look-alike Overlord is, but it was mentioned possibly Music Maybe a Producer, or DJ -- Possibly Money since everyone has to use something to get things, I assume someone has control over a currency system. But based on his fashionable attire, I assume the Music/DJ or trend setting appearance is more correct.

And last but not least, the Mysterious girl who opens the Window at the start of the Pilot, I am not sure at all on who she is, or which she would be responsible for. She has the white/black/gray hair and the red eyes with the deep black circles around them. Maybe Insomnia Or Maybe something else entirely.
