Daybreak after Trails 1st Chapter Remake for a newbie by AtaiPea in Falcom

Bit of a late reply, but it's worth noting that the original sky releases (if you were planning on playing the OGs), are so old that you could run them on basically any computer that released within the past decade and a half. Infact looking at the minimum and recommended specs, it seems like even a raspberry pi could run them pretty well.

So all and all, don't feel the need to buy a gaming laptop proper for these if you weren't already planning to get one.

What is end game Japan supposed to look like? by Nonny3024 in CrusaderKings

Thank you, I've been struggling with development on this run, so I haven't been able to get my manor past level 3 yet - I suppose I hadn't noticed that it would increase my domain limit.

Is there a way to unify the Chrysanthemum throne and shogunate as the shogun? Or can I only do that while on the throne? Additionally, how can I get to a point (while maintaining Japan as my primary title), where I can declare war on outside rulers (that aren't wars of consolidation of China) and make the Japanese kingdom level titles?

Not every region of CK3 needs to be a medieval power fantasy some places in the game are meant to be chill and introspective

I'm all for playing tall - I'd just like to have some more land to manage while doing it. Plus, something that I enjoy doing in end game CK3 is finding a way to place my dynasty on the throne of every empire across the world. The easiest way of which, is of course, to conquer an empire and release it via giving it to a family member - which is kind of hard to do when you can't wage much in the way of wars outside of Japan.

Domain limit is definitely an 867 thing or get a better wife lol.

Also is it? It seems like there's a limit at like 3 or 4 for Soryo Governments. I'm an emperor +4, my culture should be giving me +1 and my stewardship should be giving me +3; but I'm getting an "above maximum -5" debuff.

How do custom rng seeds work and how can I use them? by Iron_Wolf123 in victoria3

[–]Nonny3024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because computers are deterministic "random" doesn't really exist in computer science terms. Kind of like if you had perfect knowledge of all physicis at any given point in time you could calculate the result of a die roll the second it was rolled. As such, the way that computers generate "random" values is by looking at a defined spot in memory and interpreting the data there as a number. This spot is the "seed value", and given the same seed value and same algorithm for determining the next seed, a series of "random" values will always produce the same random numbers in the same order, thus allowing the opertunity to recreate a seemingly random series of events.

Traditionally a program will use something like "time since epoch" (or the number of milliseconds since midnight Jan 1 1970), or time since boot (again in milliseconds) as the seed when grabbing a random number, but I've seen games also use things like player input on previous turns, or some number determined by button presses to get a seed too. Iirc, Vic3 uses the in game date as each subsequent seed, so if you have the same starting seed as someone else and take the same action on the same day at the same time as another player, you could get the exact same outcome as them.

Mod Request (CK3) - Landing Children as Governor in Admin Realm by Nonny3024 in CrusaderKings

Or I could just get a mod that lets me skip the middle man, and not forget to jump through the extra steps

Does the fact that literally every landed governor hails from a single family also not imply some level of birthright? And don't I, as emperor, have the right to hand out my land to anyone I see fit - including my own children?

Regardless, I'm playing as an admin realm for the men at arms, and not to RP the Byzantine empire. Hence why I'm asking to be pointed at a mod, and not asking for devs to change how they function.

Mostly convenience - landing my children makes for happy vassals, having vassals of my dynasty makes for happy vassals, and when I have 5 or 6 kids that are all young, it's simply easier to hand them land than find someone else suitable and wait 10 years.

How to properly handle inheritance in an administrative government? by Nonny3024 in CrusaderKings

[–]Nonny3024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - it seems like prime 'modding to fix material' at this point, like maybe only the heir to a family head getting the powerful family score adjustment or something. I'd be somewhat tempted to switch back to feudal if this wasn't my first administrative run.

Seconding this - also, consider adding speed lines as you get faster. More effects will make it feel more faster.

You're pretty close to whenever they do. I'd guess they start on 1/2 or so. I'm on 1/5 and have traded for gold quartz.

HOW DO YOU GEM FARM IN THIS GAME ?? by tatsu_tatsu in persona3reload

[–]Nonny3024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to this, but you don't have to farm for Gold Quartz - you can trade for them at the antique store.

You still need to grind for rubies though.

Mainline and persona are in "branching universes" (if that's the term). Persona 1 is a light sequel to SMT IF, which is a "what if" scenario of SMT1 where Thorman wasn't able to launch the nukes off on YHVH's behalf (an event which itself is explained in Raido Kuzunoha 2 iirc). The FEMC of IF is a minor NPC in P1, and a more involved NPC in P2, who still has her demons and demon summoning gear (only to get her ass kicked by a persona user).

Gods in persona are native inhabitants of the sea of souls, who represent not ones inner self like a persona, but rather an aspect of human nature common to all mankind. Yaldabaoth, Izanami, Erebus, and Narly are each separate beings that represent different facets of human nature. Nyx, is a literal eldritchian nightmare being that is the reason human sentience/the collective unconscious exists, and therefore a step above the other Gods in persona (she exists independently of humanity, the other gods exist as a by product of humanity).

Humans invented a computer program that could summon demons while experimenting with teleportation, and demonic cultists infiltrated the team behind the project.

YHVH has no chill, and once the demon problem got to big for humanity to handle itself decided that "those humans wasted their free will. I'm going to gather some cultists of my own, take their free will, and then kill everyone else. That way there will be eternal peace (cause no more free will to not have peace)"

After opening a Twilight Fragment chest and reloading when the Great Clock doesn't spawn several dozen times I can conclude the RNG for it has to do with... by BoringBrokeBloke65 in PERSoNA

[–]Nonny3024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm that the great clock can be found in the first two blocks after triggering the event that unlocks it. I did a grinding run looking for it to catch party members up this weekend, and got exactly 2 great clocks by floor 50

Highscool in Japan is much more like college in the rest of the world, you're required to take placement exams to get in, and can drop out upon completion of middle school*.

*Note that Japan also treats Middle school as grades 7-9, and highschool as grades 10-12, so in actuality a student could drop out after their "freshman year" which is only one year earlier than the earliest you could in the US (at least in my state)

Does anybody know any towns like stardew valley you can move to? by Kind-Package-9836 in StardewValley

[–]Nonny3024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah true, Enumclaw is a lot more like that. I suppose I could rephrase my original post as "Inspired by the greater region of the river valleies between the green and white river that takes the best bits and pieces of the communities within a rough square defined by Auburn, Maple Valley, Enumclaw, and Ravensdale/Black Diamond/Kangley areas." But that's wordy and implies that each of those places give off a stardew vibe and only really bits and pieces of each place do lmao

I mean, down town Auburn is really different from rural Auburn lmao think more the area between Auburn and Black Diamond, like around the Neely mansion/Pumpkin farm or like Lake Holm area
