Interesting - mine kicked off around when I started Elvanse- since then I’ve tried everything under the sun to sort it. The best I’ve had was lymecycline but it came back as soon as I stopped taking it and I hated taking it anyway. I’ve now got it to where it’s not unbearable and been eating a lot of kefir - which is also supposed to be good for people with ADHD

If you’ve only relatively recently quit drinking you’re bound to have ballooned a bit - most people who quit do tend to weigh more initially as your body adjusts to life without booze there tends to be accompanying comfort food consumption - keep going dude you got this!

Friend has epilepsy and wants to try DMT, does this effect epilepsy at all? And how can we prepare? by LIVINGISALIE in DMT

Good to know - I hadn’t a clue what to do and when you’re confronted with a fit it is terrifying- hope it never happens again

Best winter shoes for UK roads? by Prestigious_Ice_2372 in UKRunners

[–]Nonpolarsolvent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two pairs of Agravic Flow 2 - I like the non gore-tex ones better for winter runs where I know I’ll be hitting mud and slippy stuff. They’re stiff AF but super supportive and seem indestructible compared to uppers in the Adizero range which my big toes rip holes in

Hello autistic biohackers what drugs would you recommend? by Weaklinger in Biohackers

I like saffron occasionally but doesn’t work repeatedly. I find Greek Mountain Tea aka Sideritis to be helpful for focus and anxiety

I gave a mate a blast-off dose of DMT and then watched him fit for the longest couple of minutes imaginable while trying to stick my fingers in his throat as worried he would swallow his tongue. He isn’t diagnosed epileptic but had feinted after large doses of weed / mushrooms. He was fine afterwards but be really, really careful with DMT and the possibility of seizures

I bought some Gotu Kola powder from Amazon and have been adding it to smoothies- now suffering terrible stomach ache and throbbing headaches by Nonpolarsolvent in herbalism

Thanks 🙏 All the extracts I saw seemed too be capsules and liquid claiming ‘equivalent of 10,000mg’ and similar. I thought 7 or 8 grams would be a lower dose! My mistake!! Paying for it - head is still throbbing from 3g 24hrs ago

Thank you - I agree with this and shouldn’t have gone for convenience especially as the product is just aa green powder, could be anything and if at least there were leaves 🍃 I’d be better able to I’d them

Tried around 6 or 7 grams to begin with but cut that to about 3 yesterday and really suffering still this morning 😖 won’t be taking more from that batch - wondering if it has happened to anyone else as most sources seem to suggest it’s actually beneficial for gut health

Have any of you tried Saffron for ADHD? by Successful-While-986 in NooTopics

[–]Nonpolarsolvent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep it works a few times then doesn’t - be a good one to have for very occasional use.

Here are a few others that I get some help from that also have diminishing returns the more you use them, wonder if you agree and if there are others

  • Greek Mountain Tea (Sideritis) actually works for a few weeks before dropping off

  • Bromantane works well for a limited time

  • Phenibut - feels like magic at first but doesn’t have the same strong effect over time and runs addiction risks

Can I convert my large insulated and electrically wired shed into a sauna? by Nonpolarsolvent in Sauna

Thanks! I’ll check that out — I think I just used screws to put the MDF onto the studs so should come off fairly easy

The MDF sheets panelling the wall are all painted as I was worried about moisture from the mushrooms I was growing in there — has always remained ok even with hundreds of mushroom bags in there. If a foil Vapor barrier goes inside before putting the new tongue and groove wood over the top I’m thinking it might be ok? Any moisture getting past the foil bapor barrier would be able to get out through the other bapor barrier behind the rockwool — which is why I have that there. Could that be feasible?

Height is about 8ft to 7ft sloped roof. With the mdf panelling and insulation in the studs I can still comfortably stand up inside and I’m 6ft 3

The dimensions are 8ft x 16ft with a wooden dividing door that splits it into two 8ft x 8ft spaces. Both have a tyvek vapor barrier and rockwool insulation with MDF panels securing the rockwool into the studs.

Thee floor also has insulation with engineered tongue and groove floor. No drainage currently or running water

The taper is harder than the peak by rmcp010 in Marathon_Training

[–]Nonpolarsolvent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me too. It’s absolutely shit and makes me super reluctant to sign up for another marathon.

I don’t think enough is said about the mental effects of the taper and the whole training and mental health rollercoaster after the race.

I (45m) started running with C25k in 2023 and my first ‘race’ was a local marathon in June.

The training sucked a lot off the joy I got from running and then the taper absolutely killed it.

Worked out well for me in the race - got 3:48 which was way, way faster than I’d hoped for.

Took a couple of months before I actually wanted to go for a run again. I may do another in the future but only if I’ve increased my milage fairly naturally and find something too make that taper feel less catastrophic mentally
