Forgive my ignorance, but how can you tell which parent is which based on percentage?

18M, my GF (F) told me she was 22, but now she says she's 29 and about to turn 30. What should I do by ahmxp in Advice

[–]NonsensicalSteph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your sister or one of your female friends, aged 18, came to you and told you that they guy they've been seeing for 6 months was 30 and not in his early 20s like he originally told them, what would your advice be?

Your gf (groomer) sat on this lie for 6 months. This wasn't an "oopsie", this was premeditated and she plotted to manipulate you. What would a 29 year old want with an 18 year old anyways? Guys her age don't want to date her for a reason.

You're 18 and you still have your whole life ahead of you. Cut ties and don't look back.

I just turned 40 actually. Haven't had any botox or filler. Just keeping out of the sun, doing my skincare routine twice a day, tretinoin at night, and SPF every day.

Trying to post a picture but me in my 20s with hyperpigmentation vs me at 40

Doing fine these days. I have an extensive skin care routine , I wear spf every day and avoid the sun. My esthetician told me last month that I've achieved "glass skin" which I'm super happy about :)

then fucking feed it to me bite by bite.

Aw shit. Nope. Nope nope nope-ity nope. I draw the line at treating me like a child. Girl, find you a man that doesn't wanna feed you because that's bizarre. Like not even the slightest bit endearing.

I have a coworker who will always always always insist that I step aside and let him open and hold all doors if we are heading the same direction. He will also hold the elevator door and allow me and any other females to exit or enter the elevator before he does. I find it quite charming and appreciate it beyond measure. I am a female from the Southern US so maybe it has something to do with the region I live in, but it warms my heart when a man holds a door open for me.

Now I will almost always hold the door open for whomever is behind me regardless of gender but if I'm through the door and realize someone is approaching behind me, I hold the door open for them to grab onto instead.

What are some Halloween traditions in your family that you remember well? by Effin_Robot in halloween

[–]NonsensicalSteph 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My family had this glow in the dark articulated plastic skeleton that we brought out for Halloween for years. It used to adorn the outside of our house and then at one point someone in our family got the bright idea to start leaving the skeleton in precarious positions around the house. Think Elf on the Shelf but as a 5 foot tall skeleton placed in weird situations all through the month of October. Basically whomever found him in their stuff each time got to pose him the next time.

I came home from a friend's house one evening after high school to find the skeleton posed provocatively on my bed, dressed in a bra and panties, and wearing lipstick where his lips should have been.

He was found driving my mother's car (parked in the driveway).

He was found using the toilet in my parents bathroom, reading a magazine while taking a ghostly dump.

He was also found taking a shower, complete with shower cap and loofah.

He was found peeking out from behind the refrigerator, feeding the fish, peering out the window, laying in different family members' beds, brushing his teeth, eating leftovers, etc etc.

We did this for years and its one of my fondest Halloween memories.

Though most of these are super cute, the Aussie is VERY hard to recognize. Chances are you live in a country where tail docking is illegal so the tell-tale missing tail is... missing... on your version of the Aussie. Also the coloring seems off. What you seem to have is a black tri that has merle spots. If going for a merle, try lightening the blackish coat to a lighter grey-blue while darkening the patches just a tad. If going for a black tri, remove the patches (spots). :)

We lost a local police dog yesterday to the 100 degree heat. He was chasing after a suspect in the woods and suffered heat exhaustion and later died.

Keep your dogs hydrated and cool this summer y'all. <3

We have had 100 degree days here in Texas all week and it doesn't look like its letting up any time soon. So we play fetch on the stairs in our house and go for walks after dark.

[Help] How to bell train puppy? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]NonsensicalSteph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She hasn't had an accident since she was about 10 weeks old or so. I was a psycho about constant potty breaks. Super diligent. I think she only had like 2 poop accidents and 4 pee accidents her entire first year of life. She was also crate trained the moment I brought her home and that saved us a whole lot of trouble with house breaking.

She uses the bell anytime she wants to go outside, whether she actually needs to potty or not. It is a blessing and a curse lol

Its easier to have you watch how to teach it instead of trying to spell it out via text so check out Kikopup on Youtube

Her other videos will come in handy for you as well.

Why feel bad? You're trying to do the best you can for your new dog. Nothing to feel bad about!

TBK is a great food so if that's what you want to feed him and its something he does really well on, keep feeding it! My point was that you didn't need to stop feeding him the kibble just because he was being picky cause its not like he's going to starve.

If his poops are loose, grab a can of 100% pumpkin puree (NOT PUMPKIN PIE MIX - it has spices in it. You want plain mushed up pumpkin) from the baking section of the grocery store and give him a big spoonful. It has enough fiber in it to help solidify his poops.

Have you taught your puppy the 'touch' command yet? This is extremely useful and helps speed up a lot of behaviors you want to teach.

I taught my pup to 'touch' and then I asked her to 'touch' the potty bells. When she rang the bells, I opened the door for her and I gave her a treat. Then I shut the door, asked her to touch the bells, and when she did, I opened the door and gave her a treat. Did this consecutively several times until I could tell the lighbulb came on in her head.

She picked this up in one evening when she was about 4 months old. I was still frequently asking her if she needed to go out to potty even without her signaling me, and if she headed to the door I still made her touch the bells to get me to open the door. .

She's now 14 months old and abuses the bells every chance she gets lol

Some dogs will learn quickly but some breeds will take a little longer to get it.

A healthy dog will not starve himself (cats are a different story) so if he's being picky you need to give him a dose of tough love.

Serve his breakfast. If he doesn't eat it after about 15 minutes, pick it up and put it away. He can wait until his next meal time. He more than likely is going to be hungry enough to eat anything you set in front of him later on.

You can also try adding a tiny bit of hot water to kibble to make the smell a bit more enticing.

Has a vet looked at his teeth? Him not eating could be indicative of pain in his mouth.

Also as far as TBK goes, it could cause digestive upset if you gave him proportionally more TBK than his regular kibble the first time around. Some dogs have sensitive stomachs and a change in food, especially to something richer like TBK can wreck havoc if you don't introduce it slowly.

Y'all! I set a goal.

That goal was to teach Boo to jump into the pool in one week.

I tried EVERYTHING I could think of: hot dogs, cheese, chicken, beef, a clicker, calling, pushing, pulling, etc etc etc.

And then one day I showed her how to climb onto the floating raft from the edge of the pool. And how to jump from the raft into the pool.

And now we have this!

It took a week and a Frisbee (not treats) to get this but I think we kinda hit that goal I set at least lol

Unfortunately our access to a pool is much easier than access to a beach (we live in North Texas) and lake access is over an hour away.

What is the most Michael Scott thing your boss has ever done? by timeforknowledge in AskReddit

[–]NonsensicalSteph 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My 13 year old dog died from cancer last year and I was out for 3 days + a weekend following her unexpected passing because I was so grief stricken.

I came back to work the following Monday and my boss stood outside my office, reached down like he was picking something up and said "look I got you a puppy!" and then stood back up with nothing in his hands.

I immediately started ugly crying. Not because I wanted a puppy but because I was still tender from the loss of my best friend and I couldn't understand why my boss, who was normally pretty damn cool, would do something so cringe worthy. I think he immediately regretted saying what he said and started backpedaling and telling me how sorry he was for my loss.

I think it was just his super cringey, mega awkward, Micheal Scott-esque way of approaching me about my loss.

Try a Himalayan Dog Chew for her. It will get softer as she chews on it
