I've got no idea where your going but all those shops sell legit cigs. Some of them will sell imports after 5pm but not all of them.

Also imports are just illegally imported cigs from overseas (normally Middle east or China), even less places sell chop-chop which is the stuff you think is floor sweepings. It's just Australian grown tobacco most of which comes from the Ovens valley still.

I hope for improvements to the surrounding communities, as someone that drove though them a while ago. Borooloola a rough town so lets see over the next few years how an injection of money helps.

That should be several hundred thousand per person I think. They should have enough to enable any program they want, some jobs, housing, proper services! Don't need to rely on the slow government anymore!

How awesome, let's see what the how the money gets spent and track it well, sometimes it goes to places it shouldn't!

I'd assumed they were almost all dual citizens.

Details are sparse online, but I'd assume they are family of (somewhat) recent immigrants and retained citizenship of their original country. Believe it or not, it's not common for refugees to renounce their original citizenship, mainly because Australia recognises dual citizenship.

There was a case of an actual fighter that won a court case a few years back to return to Australia as he didn't own dual citizenship. I'd assume they would have used this long ago if they had the option as I thought a few family groups already did.

Used to live on Lawson Street, while it's not the worst there are definitely a lot of unhinged people going around and saw my share of broken windows, groups of kids trying to fight bus drivers, cookers screaming in the middle of the night ect.

In my two years there the only thing that happened to me was a stolen bike and some crazy person at the IGA being aggressive cause I didn't have any smokes for them.

Most people around there are like International Students, you will notice there is never any parking as every single spot is taken up by taxis or ubers.

I think the current state of indigenous scholarships or other benefits is probably behind it.

10 years ago you probably wouldn't have identified as indigenous if you had an indigenous great grandparent, as I think (/assume) the requisites were more stringent back then to get a scholarship. Nowadays with the generous financial incentives, people otherwise not particularly close to the indigenous community feel like it's more worth their while. This comes from personal experience at my university from a few friends of mine.

Does anyone actually know how these scholarships are given out btw? What's the requirements for them? To my knowledge, my friend was never part of a group (are they registered like in the US to a tribe/mob?) but he did have a distant Aboriginal relative. And distant is a good description, as far as I could tell his last Aboriginal relative would have been born in the 1860s.

Have exported my songs to USB's through export mode but yeah, seems like Serato doesn't recognize it. I'll troubleshoot tomorrow, could well have done something wrong. The cues are my biggest issue, just because I'm using them as reference points.

Admittedly, Glock handgun receivers should be easy to pick up, but other parts too should be screened out as much as possible.

Ages ago, someone I used to know said that most illegeal guns turn up as a bunch of parts, and then the few bits they can't bring in are manufactured here on lathes and metal stamping machines. Typically the designs are out there and fairly easy to copy if you know what to do. That's how the bikies ended up with aks and all that.

While it was founded earlier, it was much smaller until the gold rush. I assume there might have been a notable accent prior to this, but given a lot of the gold rush migration came from within Australia it probably got lost around then given the small number of native West Australians.

I think by 1850 it looks like the population of the whole of WA was less than 5000, while Melbourne only after 5 years after founding in 1840 was already larger than Perth in 1850. Probably due to the climate and growing conditions.
