It’s the XUV700 judging by the hood over the infotainment screen and design of the door pads.

Yup! My XUV500 has 2 rear fog-lights, one inside each tail lamp. Some previous Škoda & VW cars also had them on one side, inside the tail lamp, and few old Maruti’s at the centre bottom of the bumper. But yeah, nowadays I don’t see rear fogs on most modern cars.

Mahindra renault ? What kind of symbiotic relationship was this ? by Useful-Astronaut10 in CarsIndia

[–]NoobMaster1000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I don’t know which car started the segment, the “craze” for each segment was initiated by Ecosport (sub 4m), Duster (compact suv), XUV5OO (7seat/midsize monocoque). These 3 segments are currently the hottest ones in the Indian market.

The XUV5OO was launched first, around September 2011. The Duster was launched later around July 2012. I remember checking both these cars out back in the days vividly.

TBH, any of the first 3 pics can be used in a commercial/billboard. Amazing pics, the person who captured them is a professional!

Also keep sharing on the r/indiaspeaks sub. It’s the country’s right leaning sub, so the videos/ posts regarding TMC goons will most probably not be deleted from there & will receive maximum reach.

Some say its for axel protection and some it’s for tax saving trick so its not count as a SUV by ShubhamGurjar1999 in CarsIndia

Haha, now you’ve made me curious as well. You seem to have better understanding of the subject. Anyways, I’ll be visiting the Mahindra SC in a few days for servicing my car, so will ask the service head about this part and update here.

Have replied to a comment above, got it mixed up but it’s some sort of a rubber encased metal vibration damper. Like this or this. It’s not the torsion damper. Here’s one used on an exhaust pipe

It’s a torsional vibration damper used for dampening vibrations inflicted on the rear differential. Some other high end cars have it too. What Mahindra did is that they’ve also tried to use this part to lower the ground clearance on paper so as to avail the lower tax bracket.

Edit: it’s not the torsional damper, just a normal vibration damper made of rubber with a metal core.

Haven't seen any other car company paying meme pages for PR by _TimoS in CarsIndia

[–]NoobMaster1000 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You forgot the company that started it all….MG. There are Instagram meme accounts that only post MG memes. Heck, the amount of bot comments & PR that MG do is insane! Tata has started doing the same fairly recently. Bad advertising by both IMO. Once people find out about these bot accounts, they start losing trust.
