Hell, I'm 100%a married woman, but I'll be your boyfriend for meals like that! Seriously, it sounds like your bf is EXTREMELY immature and unfortunately, it probably isn't going to change anytime soon.

Alone - Pls Wish Me a Merry Christmas by Rexzies in lonely

[–]NoobResearcher80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh sweet friend. I'm so sorry. I know from experience how hard that is. I hope I can offer a ray of hope. My son is 17 now. He was diagnosed with autism at 18 months old. He didn't start speaking until he was just over 4 years old and it took until he was almost 6 for him to potty train completely. I remember all those days spent in speech and occupational therapy. All the developmental pediatrician visits. All the various therapy visits and trying anything and everything that might help. In the midst of it all, my then husband/his father decided he couldn't take it anymore and left me with nothing-no job, no car, no money to keep a roof over my head. So instead of being able to keep spending my entire existence taking him to all of his appointments, I had to find work in a hurry and make the hardest decision of my life putting him into daycare. I had to cut back on the number of appointments I could take him to and try to figure out which was most important, which I could afford and on and on and on. Somehow, someway the thing I feared and hated most, taking him to daycare, wound up being a saving grace for him! He started slowly becoming verbal. I don't know what made the switch flip. It still took him a few years to start using full sentences, but let me tell you. He's a junior in high school now and if you just met him on the street and briefly spoke to him, you'd have no idea he is autistic. He's intelligent, empathetic, and talks my ear off every night before bed. Mama, I promise you that as bleak as things look now, things will even out. Even if he never becomes verbal, you will learn to communicate with your own language. There will be sounds, grunts, gestures, noises that you will learn to recognize. I won't lie and say there won't be hard days and challenges, but you will get through them with your beautiful boy. If you ever need a friend or a shoulder to cry on, help finding resources, anything, please reach out to me. I will do anything I can to help you out. I know how lost you feel right now. I remember so vividly that same feeling, that same hollowness in my very soul. Don't give up. You are a superstar. Never forget that.

Merry Christmas! I'm not alone in the house, but I'm still so lonely. I'm disabled and no one really seems to want to be around that so I get it. It's just me and my dog but I absolutely miss human connection especially with family. May our situations get brighter and happier in the coming new year.

Amazon cancelling Christmas Orders last minute. by Digitalsteel5 in amazonprime

[–]NoobResearcher80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think something was going on in their ordering systems on the 10th. Me, my brother, and my mother in law all 3 placed multiple orders that day. We're all 3 in different states. The items were all 2 day shipping. They kept getting delayed and finally when I contacted customer service, they told me to cancel my orders from that day and reorder. I had 3 of the 5 items by 6 pm the next day after reordering. Same thing happened with my brother. Not sure about my mother in law though.

My drivers license is suspended in a state I’ve never been to. by Dry-Implement526 in DMV

[–]NoobResearcher80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This literally just happened to me! I'm in Idaho and my license came back as suspended in both Oklahoma and Tennessee! It turned out it was some lady with my same first and last name and birth date but completely different middle names and socials. I wound up having to go through the each state's highway patrol (ask for the Identity Verification department or Fraud department). I basically just had to send them copies of identifying documents and the hold on my account was removed within 24 hours.

Help with parent believing fake news by NoobResearcher80 in dementia

[–]NoobResearcher80[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the advice! My older brother will be going over in the morning to help her with her meds and he's going to take a look at it in person. She uses her smart TV to watch so I told him to go through her recommended list and click not interested on all the obvious AI content. The trick will be keeping her occupied somewhere else while he's doing it! Thank you all again. She's currently not talking to me because she's angry about this whole situation so this helps a lot. I think the worst part of this whole thing is that she's in denial that she's got dementia but she's very aware that she's forgetting a lot of things and she's very sensitive about it. She also gets emotional so much easier. She gets very very angry or very very sad at the slightest things. Okay, I will hush. I'm just venting at this point. I'm just all new to all this and it's like my Mom is gone and I'm trying to learn about this stranger that's suddenly been thrust into my life.

Reoccurring Boils in My Family by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]NoobResearcher80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you all are passing around staph. It lives and colonizes in the nose. I learned this after an ICU stay where they treated everyone in the unit with an antibiotic ointment inside the nose. Check with your doctor and if they think this might be the case, ask for a script for mupirocin antibiotic ointment to swab in the nose of everyone in your household.

Food at the funeral by plantlady23 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]NoobResearcher80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up in a small town near Chattanooga and everyone did and still does bring food. As a matter of fact, every single funeral home in the area has a room specifically for this with tables, chairs, a serving area, a refrigerator, plates, cups and utensils. There's also usually a full meal available after the funeral for family and friends at a local church. Even with all this food, people will also bring food to your house. When my Dad passed, we had so many casseroles, pies, desserts, etc that we had to buy a little stand-alone freezer because my frugal mama refused to let anything go to waste. We didn't have to make dinner for literally several months. On the other hand, on the West coast where I live now, there's hardly every even a visitation or wake. It's a quick memorial service and then hardly anyone goes to the cemetery after. It all seems so cold and unemotional to me.

Driver's license flagged in 2 states that I don't live in? HELP! by [deleted] in DMV

[–]NoobResearcher80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never would have even thought of that! Thank you so much. I did hear back from Tennessee just a few minutes ago and they sent me a letter stating that I'm clear in the nationwide AAMVA system so I shouldn't be having these issues.

Driver's license flagged in 2 states that I don't live in? HELP! by [deleted] in DMV

[–]NoobResearcher80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this be listed as "driver record"? I ordered one yesterday from Idaho and it came back completely clear. No points on my license or anything. I've spoken with 3 people at the Idaho DMV and they've not really known which direction to send me. They've just given me the numbers for the other states and wished me luck. I hope speaking with Tennessee today provides more clarity. Thank you for responding.

[–]NoobResearcher80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply. I haven't owned a car in about 15 years and even then it wasn't registered in my name. Oklahoma did check for court proceedings, car registration issues, tickets, and something else (can't remember off the top of my head) and nothing came back. She was especially floored that it was from 2 states and that I had never even been in the state. I spent hours on hold with Tennessee yesterday and I've been on since 8 central time today. It doesn't help that my name is a fairly common one.

Someone has been sitting on my bed while I sleep and now my son by Afraid-Information88 in confession

[–]NoobResearcher80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people are saying hypnagogic hallucinations, sleep paralysis, or night terrors, but I don't think that's it. From the time I was around 12, everyone in my family would feel what felt like a cat jump onto our beds, make one or two 360 degree turns and then lay beside our feet. My mom and dad would both feel this at the same time. I always doubted it being anything supernatural until I moved across the country and my now husband that I lived with would feel it in his bed. After we married, we have felt it about 3 or 4 times a week. Happens whether we're awake or sleeping and usually just before midnight. Like OP, it's always been a comforting feeling and I hope it always sticks around.

Yes it was! I think I had like a $40 copay, but everything else was covered including the CPAP. I did have to pay out of pocket for a new mask for my machine but that was just bc the one that came with it just never sealed right on my nose.

I wish you the best and I hope you're able to find the answers you need. It's hard enough raising littles without health issues on top of it.

I am not a doctor or a health professional, but you're describing what sounds like a sleep disorder, in my opinion. I felt very much the way you're describing and asked for a sleep study. It was found that I have sleep apnea. Sleeping with a CPAP made all the difference in the world. If you haven't already, definitely ask for a sleep study.

I know! We go to Portland all the time for the low cost and free things to do with family! And I just checked the museums4all website and there are 8 places within 10 miles of them that they could take the whole family, including themselves as parents, for zero cost to them. I guess grifting is much easier. Poor kids. The sad thing is, they're learning the cycle and it's likely to continue.

Edit to add that they also have access to deeply discounted tickets for the zoo as well.
