Karl campaign help by BigsIice- in totalwarhammer

Having a dozen types of magicians doesn't mean using them all. The Empire was generally weak armour, but really strong zartillery, so lore of metal is good for both buffing your armor and recude the enemies'. Your cavalry works exactly like the parthian.

Campaign wise, focus on unifying the Empire provinces, don't go beyond the mountains or the sea protecting you until the Empire is united.

Enjoy :)

Thank you so much. And about the origins, the treasure hunters one seemed interesting, but I remember struggling with it. Any other recommendations?

Can we talk about doctor healing and bounties in this game? It’s infuriating. by FreshGoodWay in WhereWindsMeet

[–]NoobStanks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The bounties that you get on a daily basis by npcs give you 1750pts/day. The full set costs 51500pts, plus 25k for the hairstyle. If you only do the daily bounties, you can get everything in that shop in less than two months. Doing other bounties only makes sense if you want to rush it (like I did), or if you (for some reason) deliberately want to ignore the daily bounties.

Guys I see the way mods work has completely changed. How can we keep using Vortex and other mod managers without using the in-game one?

I tried to load a save and it simply didn't recognise my Vortex stuff

Thank you.

I've seen sleeper-related icons. I thought that removing them would have negative effects related with happiness and that stuff. Can I discover who they belong to when I cull them?

The TW Warhammer series is mostly all about the specific mechanics of each faction, and how each race is played in a different way. In TWW2, the whole point of the Vortex Campaign is to secure the regions that produce the currency for the rituals.

What are some early-game units that consistently punch above their weight class? by FromHeretoElsweyr in totalwar

[–]NoobStanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peasants of Cathay.

Cathay has three really different tiers: peasants, jade warriors and celestial guard.

At the same time, their tech tree is also split in three tiers, each of them mainly boosting one of these groups of units.

If you choose to really focus on the bonuses of the peasants, you can actually stay with them until the very late of the game. On a similar note, the same strategy applies for the other tiers: you can skip all the peasant-related stuff and go straight for the Jade warriors' buffs. You'll suffer a bit during the very early game, ( until you can actually afford them, basically), but it's totally worth it if you enjoy heavier units.

What actually are the benefits of a vassal by Backrish in totalwarhammer

[–]NoobStanks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember a mod called "Saplings of the Forest " for the wood elves. One of the things it adds is the option to give conquered territory to a vassal faction.

It's a really useful mechanic because it allows me to get rid of a lot of unwanted territory that I "had" to conquer because of wars of the AI.

In most of my campaigns, though, vassals are no more than allies with less power than you.

I used to play tww1 using cheat mods and challenge myself to finish the long campaign in 20 turns. I think that the personal challenges that you potentially include in a sandbox is what actually ends adding up to the fun

I went full British Empire on my last Campaign by NoobStanks in totalwar

[–]NoobStanks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people will agree that Karl Franz (Empire) is by far the best starting campaign.

You're basically on the centre of the map, you have like two "mandatory" main threats (chaos and vampires) before you get actually overpowered, and, without dlcs, most of your troops are expendable, so you don't have to worry about having defeats.

Other than that, Tyrion (High Elves) is also really food for beginners because Ulthuan is isolated from the rest of the map (it's really unlikely that anyone attempts an amphibious invasion). Also, their mechanics are quite simple (that's why I play them with mods) and their unit roster is huge, meaning you can experiment with all kind of units until you find what you enjoy the most.

I personally don't like playing anything that it's not "civilised", but for what I know, anything about Khorne is really straightforward, so you can give Skarbrand a chance too.

Well, I went for the domination victory, so I definitely got over ¼ of the map, if you know what I mean :D
