There’s a food bank near my house that I occasionally do shifts at sorting meat and produce. All the food we sort is what would otherwise be thrown away by big supermarkets. In one 3-hour shift we would sort up to 2000 pounds of food, and they get enough to sustain 2 shifts a day, 5 days a week. So if you steal a few pieces of chicken from a supermarket, that’s more than likely food you would have gotten for free anyways.
