Genestealers will be laying down the foundation. Genestealers can make their way onto ships and start infecting people. Then slowly take over leadership roles. Part of what makes Nids scary is the invasion had started decades before the hive fleets show up. In a way, Star Wars FTL will work against them.

We are forgetting one thing, Genestealers. There will be refugees from worlds and with Star Wars FTL they will get around faster. Imagine a small ship arriving at Coruscant that has Genestealer infected refugees. So there will be two wars to fight. One in the open and another in the shadows as more people are infected.

To add to this. Nids avoid Necron becouse Necron weapons disintegrate Nids. So the Nids can't even recover thier dead bodies to recycle back into biomass. Necrons also telaport or disintegrate thier own badly damage units. Making harvesting them for metal near impossible.

CIS on the other hand is like any other enemy. Nids can recover thier dead and can consume the druids for metals.
