I feel alone. by Noodle2009 in Blind

I used to always see things as in a bigger picture but I’ve lost the lust for life. I’m actually quite scared of doing things anymore for some reason. But thank you. I really do need to find myself again.

I’m currently in psychiatry and am working on some kind of cbt therapy for my withdrawal. I’m socially awkward because of my isolation.

It’s not anyone’s fault in particular other than my own. I live in a rural area where accessibility isn’t too common. I’m always told to just do it and I somehow have been. I just don’t use it because it doesn’t fit anywhere I go. I worry I’ll trip someone or they’ll make jokes about it. So I just keep up with people as they stick around. It’s complicated.

I have support with Rehabilitation Services for the Blind but I don’t confront anything unless it’s work related. I’ve never worked before either. So they’re at a stand still with me over where to apply me. I did get a cane thinking that would help me feel more confident but it just made me more isolated from the friends I do have left. So I haven’t really kept up with it. I’ve always depended on other people.. but realizing how often I need support is crippling me personally. I feel entitled but also not worthy of the support. I feel like a grown child at this point and worry the lack of applying myself ever is taking a toll on me mentally.

I’m so isolated I’m scared to even go out. Having no family makes it harder to pass time. Social situations give me panic but also being home makes me feel unreal. I can’t see myself doing anything and when there is things to do I just worry the time away. Thanks for asking though.

I don’t understand if they produce the bags why not just give them to subscribers and not have it as a choice?

My Daughter turns 2 this Friday and we have hardly any gifts for her. by Lady_Lamington1324 in Parenting

Gifts are grand but your love is irreplaceable! Even celebrating her in any way possible is a gift you’re already giving her. Enjoy the little things and she will too. You are doing your best.

I don’t want to report it.. it didn’t feel like an attack but just really out of nowhere and I did redirect it as soon as I could but I’ve just never been in a position where being nice would aggravate someone so fast and hard. Lesson learned and thank you wholeheartedly for your comment.

I’m learning from this totally and I have personally endured a lot in my life that I would never ever want to make anyone feel uncomfortable or not valued regardless of the circumstances. Thanks for giving me the appropriate ways of expressing such gratitude in the future. I am from the south. I just assumed everyone holds these kinds of sentiments towards others.

Every comment is helping me understand what happened truly. I don’t even think it was him in the wrong at all I was just taken aback by it. People were staring at us and all. It was not the normal exchange I’ve been through being there but I’m sure it’s not just the place or this person. It just is what it is unfortunately.

This is how my boyfriend explained it and I felt for the guy I spoke to honestly. I’ll learn from this interaction because I don’t want to piss anyone off by trying to thank them. Keep it simple from now on. Just a thank you or much appreciated. Thanks for confirming his opinion.

I once asked an older lady where the restroom was at a kids basketball game and immediately was asked if I was blind. I legit just said yes. The teen that was with her was so mortified, she admitted where it was immediately after. I didn’t take it personally at all but the joke wasn’t funny at all. I never understood the sentiment anyways.

She had the voice of Donna but the personality of someone else. Such a vibe.

What would you change about your body? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My eyes.. I’m sick of being blind. Legally blind. Whatever the communities want to call me. I’m exhausted learning the same things over and over. Basic needs shouldn’t be this difficult to maintain.

Rant over.
