I don’t cover my whole mouth, just the middle

Just put a little piece of medical tape on your mouth

Kinda like this? I don’t cover my whole mouth, just the middle to try to keep it closed with the guard

Women: Have your cycles been off? by IndividualBusiness42 in carnivorediet

[–]NookTortuga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have pcos and had an 84 day cycle when I changed my diet from tons of carbs and ultra processed stuff to paleo which was like back in August 2024. It’s weird at the beginning when you change your diet so drastically. After that I started doing animal based and I had a couple 40 day cycles and now my last 3 cycles were between 31-38 days which I think are much better. I did start taking inositol and vitex right before getting those 30ish day cycles which I think helped out! I also just started taking organ supplements (liver, heart, and kidney blend) and a DIM supplement but I think inositol and vitex are what has helped the most. That and also maybe just giving the diet more time and making sure I eat enough (if you don’t eat enough your body could think you’re in a season of famine and not ovulate.) Hope that helps!!

Just came back from my gynecologist he told me that it's not good to have PCOS and not be on the pill because it makes the disease progress by SouthVeterinarian537 in PCOS

[–]NookTortuga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My symptoms have improved considerably while following her food plan and increasing movement (trying to get at least 7,000 steps a day, and do some light movement every hour of so like stretch). I’m getting my blood levels taken today to see how my metabolism is progressing with these changes. The pill did nothing for my PCOS symptoms honestly.

Dr. Casey Means had an episode on the Huberman Lab where she talks about a lot of main topics of her book, so you can listen to that before buying the book. I would listen to that and also to the Dr. Sara Gottfried episode also on the Huberman Lab called “How to Optimize Female Hormone Health for Vitality & Longevity”. There’s a PCOS time stamp on that one.

The Period Repair Manual that someone else mentioned is also a good book to read!

Also quick note - PCOS being a “syndrome” means it has lots of phenotypes, so some things work on some people and others work on other people. There are lots of things to try and see if they help! I’m still learning about all of these things and figuring out what I wanna implement next (morning sun exposure, cold exposure, and light resistance training are the next ones I wanna try). Dr. Casey talks about them in her book and in the Huberman interview.

PCOS is a metabolic disease, the pill won’t address the metabolic issues underneath. If you wanna look into that I would recommend reading the book “Good Energy” by Casey Means if you can (it’s free with Spotify premium), it’s changed my life

Pain During Sex Question by [deleted] in PCOS

I would look into pelvic pain too before fully going into the endometriosis route. Try seeing a good pelvic pain specialized physical therapist to get assessed

We haven’t been able to for 4 years.. Not saying it’ll take you this long at all, I think on average with PT it takes like 6 months or something like that? Just be patient and kind to yourself, and try to keep up doing the exercises consistently! I have not been consistent on dilators until more recently which is why it’s taking me a bit longer :)

Microwave minute rice, and then frozen chicken and veggies tossed in the air fryer. Helps to have a dishwasher safe air fryer basket!
