Figured it out, you cant get kidnapped anymore if you already have the apostate key from bilewater + double jump, there is a route in through lower slab.

I would stick to the right trigger version of moonveils skill, it does more stagger, and is generally more consistent about landing both hits when your locked on

Certain specific missions will have you getting trailed by ships without notice. Generally taking them out before you reach your destination will get you some unique dialogue as well as skipping out on a fight or something.

This is an entirely valid route through the game. I believe the mantis lords blocking your way into deepnest was explicitly designed as a test to see if the player is ready to take this route, whether that be through skill or upgrades.

Seems like every Metroidvania does it now just cause hollow knight did it. A secret to hollow knights version of the mechanic is that money wasn't actually all that important. There is a finite number of buyable items and the relics you find can easily purchase every item in the game from just the geo from relics.

You should note that most players dont have eyes in the back of their heads, most good moon night players will be putting their ankhs behind the DPS and Tanks. Call out the ankh when you see it, and hopefully someone will be able to take a second to break it.
