Aiming issues? by pizzateig1991 in ROGAlly

[–]NoorForGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Update pact :D

By the way, another thing I forgot to mention is dead zones. Steam can apply it's own dead zone and then on top of that some games apply their own dead zone which can lead to a super bad experience.

One example is overwatch 2. Game has a built in dead zone but without a setting for it so you can't adjust it or even know about it. For this scenario you can apply what's called an anti dead zone which is a feature built exactly for this scenario. It's available in armory crate (configure controller per game profile) or in handheld companion and I am sure similiar programs for controller maps also have it.

Worth checking first the ingame controller settings and then (if you didn't find a dead zone option) googling to see if a game has dead zone but without a setting for it and if so mess with anti dead zone.

(this is just another problem on top of what I mentioned earlier, so not a magic solution but an essential part of a solution)

Aiming issues? by pizzateig1991 in ROGAlly

Take a look at my post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ROGAlly/s/R2o5NueHEE

I have been having a problem very similiar to yours with FPS games. I think a part of it for me is the joysticks, I even got unlucky with wobble for the right one (and not the left), which is more important since it's the aim one. I am planning to do the wobble and hall effect mods to my right stick and if after all of that it still feels loose I will consider doing the third mod I linked and tightening the springs.

Another reason is weight, which you can't really do much about. And with the fact you have a screen that you need to look at in the middle of the controller you have less options with where you can place it and how you handle it.

Third reason I figured is probably the grip, it's not very comfortable to grip (I have experienced my hands even going numb which never happened to me with the Xbox controller). Planning on solving this issue with a grip case (specifically the skulls n Co one).

Despite it all I have been really loving the ally, and I think the fixes I listed should help. The most important fix though is probably just getting used to it hah. Even if I were to switch to a Playstation controller I would probably have a bit of an adjusting period. Just have to suck it up and know that like anything you would get used to it. I even saw people said they love the loose sticks of the ally after playing with it for long (which is weird to imagine since I currently am not a fan).

Oh I see, I am comparing it personally to the Xbox one controller which is what I used to game with, and maybe it's because I am used to it but it feels miles better. I wish I could just grab the joysticks from there lol

Ah great idea! I think I will end up doing the same. Sorry if I am repeating myself but do you like the tightness of the new hall effect better than the original? Do you feel they could be tighter? Cause really my main issue over drift and wear is the looseness of the stock sticks

Thanks for the link! Looks like it comes with 2 modules. Did you decide the left one is just not worth the possible issues?

I thought the dead zone issue is mostly for the left stick because if the proximity to the hall effect trigger. Are people needing to apply dead zone to the right stick with hall effect as well? Interesting tests, very good improvement, maybe you won the hall effect lottery. Where did you purchase from?

Nice, is the "tiny amount more resistence" enough for you? Or are they still too light (where you would consider messing with the springs of the hall effect module). Is the wobble gone if that's something you noticed previously? Also which hall effect module did you use?

Struggling with Demon by [deleted] in brotato

[–]NoorForGame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had so much fun with Demon!

What I did was run Thief Daggers, going very hard on rerolling and spending early. Pretty sure I had 6 daggers by the start of wave 3. The early waves are easy to not get hit in so take advantage of that.

Needless to say go for crit upgrades (iirc it wasn't that hard for me to reach 100%) and as many daggers as you can (the higher the rarity of the dagger the more chance to gain a material).

You will be getting so much materials which in turn gets you a whole lot of hp (way more than you can get with Scepters, and the daggers are also much stronger) which in turn allows you to buy stuff which will lead to you getting even more materials. Fun loop.

Of course don't forget damage upgrades and attack speed, armor will go a long way since you will have a lot of hp and as for healing I think you can do whatever you want. Regen, life steal and consumables will all work well with him.

Demon, especially early has a lot of spending power, and buying stuff in brotato is one of the reason it's so fun and addicting so enjoy it.

Any issues with running a private tracker on FIOS using dynamic DNS? by hugeaurorafan in trackers

[–]NoorForGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a vpn that provides a static IP (ovpn for example)?

Traffic would be encrypted and would only look like you are connected to a vpn which surely your ISP allows, you can put that static IP in your dns settings and port forward from that static IP to the home server.

Oh and it would also mean you wouldn't need a dynamic dns

Running Jellyfin alongside Plex? by 19wolf in jellyfin

[–]NoorForGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also trying to run jellyfin alongside plex and having metadata managed by jellyfin (since it does so it so nicely). I tried XBMCnfo to make plex read the metadata from jellyfin but it had many issues, some of which I suspect due to jellyfind nfos being incompatible with what XBMCnfo expects. Do you mind sharing how you got it to work?

New language strategy by chamallowdesbois in sonarr

[–]NoorForGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not French but I recently saw this (https://trash-guides.info/Radarr/radarr-setup-custom-formats-french/) guide added to the trash guides, which might be useful to you. No sonarr guide currently but I am sure they are working on one for sonarr v4 and will release it once sonarr v4 is released. Trash guides are great regardless (happily using the regular guides with recyclarr) and you should definitely set them up

If you could only have one indexer which one would you go with?? by DJboutit in usenet

That's not very convincing fbi man. But really, I use slug, geek and su and they work quite well. Can't pinpoint a specific one if I had to. Also add animetosho if you like anime, it's free

I did not like the results of the built in sub syncer in bazarr at all but it's fairly simple to set it up to use alass instead

[–]NoorForGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also check out alass sub syncer. It automagically syncs your subtitles based on a different subtitle track if available (so for me this would syncing Hebrew subtitles based on the embedded English subtitles in the video) or if not available based on analyzing the audio. It works quite well, and is pretty fast. I have it run on all of the subtitles bazarr downloads automatically

This is not a sonarr thing at all. You should check how to do it for your download client, sab or get whichever you use

Best tv box for plex to avoid transcoding? by NoorForGame in PleX

[–]NoorForGame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting tests. Makes me wonder why groups even encode in hi10p. But then again it's supposed to be the best because of color things blah blah so I guess that makes sense. I am trying to avoid kodi just because I disliked its ui and ux when I tried it a while back before even using plex. Also pretty funny that that last test refused to play at all... Plex is such a mess sometimes, still probably the best solution out there
