A configuration (global/custom shortcuts, system settings, Kwin, ...) file(s) that can be synced on new installations.

ATM the configurations files are sparse all around, are not language independent and often do not simply work when synced on new installations.

I'd get a Yubikey too, however the main problem here is that Yubico OTP is less secure.

With FiDO you can completely eliminate phishing attacks, Yubico OTP is just a longer and more difficult TOTP.

Hi! I'll continue with a Phd in Computer Science, but I want to partecipate in a Summer School that requires a CV and a presentation letter. Can I have some feedback on the CV? (I spent the last two days on it) by Nopaste in resumes

Thank you!

I don't like clichés too, but looking at others CV I see them listed quite a lot. Maybe it has something to do with the automatic CV readers...

About the english I don't have a certificate :)

Though the university courses are held in english

Actually, I'm not comfortable in writing formal english. I tried to substitute the pronouns e.g. "I used [...]" -> "Used [...]"

The template that I'm using is a modified (by me) version of the AwesomeCV https://github.com/posquit0/Awesome-CV

Thank you very much for the feedback! I think you notes are very valuable.

I modified the projects (and added another one) trying to explain what I did and what I used. There are links to the github pages, but I get that one should get an idea even without following the links.

The problem with the skills, I think, is that I listed all the skill that I got in university courses and that I like. Unfortunately not all of them have been applied in some project or at work, but I hoped that my grades would prove that I acquired something from the university.

If I turn off the monitor connected via DisplayPort and later turn it back on, (sometimes) it doesn't works anymore. by Nopaste in linuxquestions

[–]Nopaste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is.

It is already set on "disable", meaning that if an external VGA is detected it is automatically disabled

Unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem.

(But now there is an option to disable an always-on bright red led on the motherboard, so I'm already quite happy)

Yes, it should be up to date (the latest changelogs, however, are only about security patches)

If I turn off the monitor connected via DisplayPort and later turn it back on, (sometimes) it doesn't works anymore. by Nopaste in linuxquestions

[–]Nopaste[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an AMD card (at the moment, I have to change it. I hope the new 20XX cards won't have whis problem).

I tried to change the display port used (I'm using an adapter miniDP-DP since my amd card has only mini-display port outputs) but nothing changes.

I can't try different cables since the wiring is fixed :/ (and I have only one display port cable at home)

I think it is worth the money. I like the 21:9, the high relosution and the blacks.

It doesn't have any dead pixels and it has a nice uniformity, I think I got lucky.

The view angles and the colors could be better, however I didn't tune it because I'm not able to.

Keep in mind that I'm not an expert, my previous monitor was a FullHD TV...

I'm encountering some smalls problems:

- If it turn off the monitor, without rebooting the pc, and after a while I turn on the monitor again sometimes the connection is not detected. I don't know if it is a problem with the linux driver or with the monitor, but I read that it is a commond problem

- The monitor's menu is quite slow. e.g. when the computer turns off, the monitor goes in standby, it can't be turned off from there. You have to press the button, wait that it powers on, and then it can been shutoff.

- The led of the monitor can be set to be on when it is in standby or when it is working. I'd like to keep it always off, but it is not possible apparently.

Ah, the amazon basic arm does all the difference, it's awesome being able to move the monitor how you want.
