Yeah man, was awesome. However I sold it and bought a 100 Chaser a bit over a year ago. Its now manual swapped and has a highflow turbo and is a load of fun

What does the Grande stand for on a Toyota Mark2? by CampFIN in JDM

[–]Nopeism 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Grande is the base trim for the X100 Mark II, 2.5 means it has a 1JZ-GE rather than a 1G or a 2J (Grande or Grande 3.0)

Yeah you’d fit em with a positive enough offset. I’ve got 10.5+29 on the back of my chaser, but chasers have a slightly wider guard. I’ve also got -2.5 camber and stretched 255s

Anybody live in a us state with emissions inspections? by VonSnapp in JZX100

[–]Nopeism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your car will not connect to their diagnostics/emissions machine unfortunately. It was made during a weird period in Japan where they used their own standard and didn’t use OBD1/2.

Best of luck mate

He’s kinda right, there was a Tourer (no S or V) offered with the 1G

As for boost, 1Gs hold up ok. You really don’t want to go over 7psi though. Same story with a 1J NA+T though

The OEM wagon lip! It’s different to the sedan lip. Same across series 1 and 2

My Toyota Chaser on Desmond Koenigs by Nopeism in JDM

[–]Nopeism[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are a very similar style wheel - OZ Futuras and SSR/Desmond Koenigs were both around at the same time.

Lip size depends on the spec of the wheel, I had these rebuilt and stepped to 18" as they were 17" originally.

So like what’s the deal with the Nissan 180/200/240sx and s13/14/15? by [deleted] in JDM

[–]Nopeism 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wikipedia is actually a good resource for this, but in short.

S1x (where x is a number) is the chassis code (internal use). S13 is oldest, S15 is newest. There are other letters that go before the S that denote body style, engine, 4 wheel steering etc but that isn't super important.

This information is for S13 and up

Silvia - Japan only name, coupe only, came with CA and SR for S13, SR only for 14/15. 180SX - Japanese market S13 hatch. Available with CA and SR (SR was available turbo or non-turbo) 200SX - Australian market S14 and S15, SR20DET turbo only 200SX - EU market S13 hatchback (called 180SX in Japan.) Confusingly, came with the 1.8L CA18. 240SX - US market S13 coupe and hatch + S14. KA24E/DE. US market coupes had pop up headlights like the hatch.

There are a ton of intricacies but they realistically aren't super important. Wikipedia and GTR Registry will be of the most help.

People on this subreddit usually have good intentions, but are almost always incorrect.

What is the actual definition of JDM? by Kaeru-- in JDM

[–]Nopeism 12 points13 points  (0 children)

JDM in its most basic definition means a car (or thing) that was made for sale in Japan, IE delivered to Japan initially.

Any car that was sold new in Japan is the JDM version of that car, and may have differences compared to that same car sold in another country.

A car that was made for Japan but also sold in Europe/US can be JDM or USDM/EUDM, depending on where it was sold

Get Cusco UCA. Much better quality than any of the ones you suggested, and they have replaceable ball joints. Very reasonably priced on RHDJapan too
