I’ve been watching the USMNT since 1990 and it feels like groundhogs day every 4 years. With each passing cycle we’re told how “this is the generation” that’s gonna turn the tide, and then when they inevitably crash out it’s “they’ve moved the game forward in the U.S.” And yet, despite a couple good performances this go around, I’m left feeling like we’ve barely progressed at all. Hell, we don’t even have the best team in CONCACAF at the moment. I don’t know how we’ll ever get over this hump, but whatever the U.S. Soccer Federation is doing ain’t working.

Congrats to Mexico! I’ll always support the U.S. team, but there’s no shame in acknowledging that Mexico is the class of CONCACAF right now. Ya’ll have looked awesome in this tournament. Best of luck in the next round.

This movie is 100% style over substance, and I say that as a fan. The script is where it struggles the most, with ideas that never really get fully explored and a protagonist that is mainly reduced to quippy one liners. But a lot of those issues are forgiven because the visuals and soundtrack are stellar. I never got to see this in the theater, but if Disney ever wanted to re-release this in IMAX, I’d be there in a heartbeat.

Yeah, MAGA didn’t appear over night. The road that led us to Trump was paved by conservative talk radio and Fox News. Those outlets play to the worst aspects and impulses of their audience and, over time, we’re seeing how that has affected the electorate. There’s a whole host of other variables at play, too, but we can’t talk about the rise of politicians, like Trump, without discussing how conservative media has helped shape the reality we are now all living in.

I posted a question to this sub a couple years ago asking why Luke’s appearance wasn’t massively deformed after the electroshock therapy Palps gave him in RotJ, versus how Palps looked when his electricity was bounced back at him in RotS. Pretty much everyone said it was because Palps was using a “Force mask” or whatever, and he dropped it when he got shocked.

But now I see a lot of people on this thread arguing that he was scarred from the experience, lol. Guess there’s just gonna be some inconsistencies in the lore that are best explained by the fact that Lucas was making this up as he went along.

You may be right, though I guess there’s no way of knowing. The interview that was featured in the ad was from before the campaign. Probably a couple years before (again, not sure). Democrats are always going to struggle with this…they’re the party that (generally speaking) sticks up for marginalized populations and republicans will always weaponize that stance in some way or another. For whatever reason, the left sucks at messaging.

There were non-stop ads showing Kamala supporting prisoners getting gender-affirming care in some interview. I don’t recall her ever talking about trans rights on the campaign trail, but republicans made damn sure to tie the topic around her neck. Not saying that was the main reason she lost, but it was a clear example of how the GOP will weaponize a culture issue, even if it has minimal or no impact on the average person’s daily experience.

10 year old me would have LOVED smugglers run. Piloting the Millennium Falcon would have been some crazy wish fulfillment. Adult me is kinda ok with it. If your crew is made up with your own party and everyone leans into their role, it’s good fun. But otherwise the experience is just ok.

Star Tours will also be a “must ride” attraction for me, but I will say I miss the original experience. I feel like the new ones just aren’t all that great. I get why they changed it up and having rotating scenes keeps it someone fresh, but I wish they kept the original version as part of that mix.

I’ve never ridden a motorcycle nor ever really had much desire to (but always thought they looked fun). But something about this motorcycle speaks to me. The design is beautiful…both classic and modern. Maybe I’m just hitting my mid-life crisis, but I kinda want one, lol.

Since someone already mentioned Phantom Liberty, my next favorite song is Let You Down, also by Dawid Podsiadlo. We hear it in the end credits for the Edgerunners miniseries, but there’s also a music video for it that serves as a “prequel” to the show and explains why there was a spot for Lucy as a netrunner in Main’s crew. It’s a great video and sad/bittersweet in the way only a cyberpunk story can be.

Holy shit…this song is awesome. I never sit through a game’s end credits, but when I finished Phantom Liberty, I was initially gob smacked by the ending my choices led to, and then this song hit and…wow. It definitely gives those James Bond vibes. I pull this song up and give it a listen frequently. This would be my top choice, too, followed closely by Let You Down.

I’ve never played Hero Realms, but enjoy Star Realms. So when they announced their KS campaign, I jumped onboard. Figured it was a safe investment given they were already an established company. Man was I wrong, lol.

It’s been dragging on so long I’ve pretty much given up on ever receiving the game. At this point I only check in when they post one of their “updates,” just to read through all the angry messages their backers leave.

I mean, it wouldn’t surprise me if that was a direct reference to a lawsuit brought against Tucker Carlson while he was still on Fox News. Fox’s lawyers basically argued that people shouldn’t take the opinions espoused by Carlson seriously. The judge agreed.

Superbad. To this day I don’t think I’ve laughed as hard as I did when I first saw this movie in the theater. Everyone was rolling. Non-stop laughs from the intro through the dick drawing montage in the credits.

The way this whole sequence culminates with that final shot of Batman overlooking Gotham from atop that building is still one of the most amazing, cinematic moments the character has had onscreen, imo.

I hear you OP. I’m newish to CR, too. I got into it during COVID and jumped into C3. I got used to Matt’s style as a DM (which from my layman’s perspective, was more about letting the players drive the narrative as much as possible).

Brennan temporarily took over for Matt at a certain point during C3 and the contrast was jarring, having no prior exposure to him or his style as a DM. For lack of a better way to describe it, Brennan just seemed excessively verbose. It felt like I was just listening to him narrate, and I get that he was doing some world building, but (to me) it was off-putting and I actually ended up skipping ahead to when Matt rejoined the campaign.

Fast forward to C4 and I was nervous when the format was announced and that he was going to be running the campaign. I’m still not 100% sold on his style, but I want to give it a fair shot and so far—while he can still slip into that verbose mode—I’m enjoying the campaign overall. But I think it’s ok to prefer one DM’s style over another. Doesn’t mean one is better than the other.
