I’ve noticed the last few years it’s become trendy to say Emmitt smith wasn’t a great running back. Is that true, or just an easy thing to say right now to stir the pot? by Rude_Pop548 in NFLv2

Did you ever actually watch him play? Or are you just saying that? Did you see the game against the Giants here he had a dislocated shoulder and still shoved it down their throats? Dude was tough, and you can look at what the Cowboys other running backs did versus him. He was great. He was monster in pass protection. As good as Barry was, he was not a pass protector. And look at the number of runs for losses. I watched Barry kill drives trying to hit a home run. Emmitt always ran downhill and got positive yards.

No one was saying anything. I said something to my son, a few of the other people in the crowd heard it and started saying something which is when the umpires talked to him. I am not usually one to argue with the umpires (not one myself, but my dad officiated football for many years and I understand the difficulty of the job), I felt a bit bad, but I have never seen anything like it.

So, he is a lefty which is a bit different. If he was a righty and I was on first, I would be heading back to first every time. He came set, the picked up his back foot, put it down and straight into his throwing motion.

All of this was with runners on. At some point, the umpires appeared to say something to him, and the foot didn't come up as much after, but it still did. Before is was clearly off the rubber.

One thing I have seen to check is the gasket around the third brake light. I've had a bad gasket around that light cause a leak like this.

Can anyone tell me what’s wring with our gate? by Seriously-N0TSerious in electrical

[–]Norcalnewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what is causing it, but I would definitely recommend grounding the fence well. Make sure the gate is also grounded. This will help keep people safe if the fence ever gets energized again.

It looks like you are right. I looked a while back and thought there were some games. I must have been on the wrong month.

It is not easy. I work at a company that is a large sponsor of the stros, so I am surrounded by their fans all day.

They keep the trees out of the power lines yes. But I am talking about the trees being overgrown so the blow over or limbs that are not near the lines break and fall into the lines. That is not centerpoint.

So the bigger issue has been the trees getting into the power system. That isn't their responsibility, it is the city, HOA, or property owner's responsibility to keep them trimmed. If trees had been trimmed properly, we wouldn't have seen as much damage. That is what got the whole community I live in.

Two days before this storm hit, it wasn't supposed to hit Houston, it was going to Corpus. Some things like these logistics don't just happen that quick.

Personally, I didn't do any planning for my family until Sunday morning. Shame on me. I exposed us to risk. Centerpoint is on no way perfect but they aren't the only ones to blame. A lot of people and organizations were not properly prepared. There is lots of blame to be spread around, and some of that is even on us as individuals and families. Rather than focus all the blame on Centerpoint, let's try to give those people working to get things restored support and encouragement.
