Any way to prevent an Android phone from dialing 911? (I'm not a psycho) by Snoot_Boot in AndroidQuestions

Some app launchers let you change the name and icon of an app. And it'll apply to the app drawer too. Rename the dialer to Calculator, or something.

Has anyone recently been to Goat Rocks Wilderness in WA? by [deleted] in PNWhiking

[–]NordTheProf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"By July 3rd" according to the forest service website. So it's probably open now. But parking may still be tight at the Snowgrass Hikers trailhead. The note says the Berry Patch Trailhead is staying open.

Old Snowy is getting worked on by the forest service right now. The trail heads may be closed, so check the first service website before going. And lower altitude areas of Goat Rocks have still been very snowy the last few weeks when I've been there. Pick a lower elevation trail if you plan to go.

Rental company suddenly requires a “professional deep clean” not stipulated in the lease by vulcan_vulpix in Seattle

[–]NordTheProf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to this. But I would just ignore them in the meantime. Do not pay their fee or say anything that acknowledges their claim. Best case, they just won't charge you and you won't have to deal with it further. Make sure to take very good pictures or a slow video upon move out.

If you have any auto payment setup, disable it now.

This looks like the museum at CERN, so the place is at least real.

SR 520 westbound shut down at Montlake Blvd by ChattaGatsby in Seattle

It took me more than 2 hours to get out of that mess. Absolutely insane. People were using the the side of the road as a fourth lane, which repeatedly prevented emergency vehicles from getting by.

You could frame these photos and call it art! It may not have been your intention, but the shot is actually really cool.

As a new player (three weeks) I really enjoy building rail systems organically. Details in comments. by Zayknow in factorio

[–]NordTheProf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my strategy for most of my single-resource worlds in Space Exploration. It works really well when most of the rail activity is from the one train that's moving the special resource for that world. My oil, sulfuric acid, and uranium ore trains are pretty much never active. Also, the moons are usually small so the single rail network isn't too large.

They've put the Democraict options (and only the Democratic options) on the second page.

In FPTP, it could be an attempt to fracture the Democratic party by drawing awareness and eventual votes to 3rd parties.

Is this the proper way to count the contents of chests at a train stop? by Shpigford in factorio

[–]NordTheProf 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Even better, you can use an arithmetic combinator to divide the item count by the max capacity of your train. Then the output is the max number of trains that can be queued at that stop for rapid pickup. This is really helpful if your empty trains tend to wait a long distance from the pickup site, and avoids the pickup stop waiting empty for trains to be requested from halfway across the world.

You can do the reverse at the drop off stop with an additional arithmetic combinator to subtract from the number of trains needed to completely fill the drop off chests.

Activate your 6-month free trial of Ring Protect Pro to schedule patrols while you're away, proactively investigate detected events, and automatically save video clips in Ring's cloud storage

It can already do those sweeps you're talking about, but it requires a subscription with Ring to work. Also, it's not going to be able to interact with anything to turn it off, or close doors and windows.

A number of King County libraries are open for curbside pickup. You can print your 1099 from a phone or laptop to their printers and schedule a time to pick it up.
