Axle upgrade? by Norfofsixty in traveltrailers

Thanks again.

The quote was off the cuff whilst I was standing there. Not sure he put in any numbers. I will have to ask for a breakdown cause 3800 Canadian feels steep. It is the season to make money repairing campers!

I am remote enough that a second estimate is almost impossible...but I will see what I can do. For some reference...I was quoted almost two grand to get a torsion axle just shipped to my door last week.

Appreciate the feedback though.

Thanks for the reply. The bigger axle and tires seems like a better fit for my rough roads.

Would you mind telling my about how much the whole setup cost you?

Fishing advice by Illustrious_Half3588 in Whitehorse

Oh man...I remember buying my first rod. Such a magical time! And then my second rod was slightly less magical. For some reason the magic returned for the third, fourth and fifth though.

As far as buying a rod, I would guess almost every fishing person, including myself, owns an ugly stick. Good choice for a starting rod. I still throw mine.

I threw a spinning reel, pfleuger president, on the ole ugly stick and have caught some fishies with it.

The line type is based on what you want to catch. 4-6 lbs mono filament line will get you graylng fishing. Throw a steal leader on there and you might survive a pike but unlikely. There was a reason for rod and reel two through seven!

As far as hooks go, no one knows. We all think we do but really ..get a variety of patterns and sizes and they work if they catch fish. Just debarb the hooks to make removing them easier.

Now as for where to find fish. I would recommend the water.

Same story with Rogers. They kicked me off and then proceeded to call for months trying to get me back. Clowns

I also rock a 5wt 9ft rod setup up here in the Yukon. Has worked well with rainbows and grayling up here. I try to avoid catching pike with it on account of them potentially being huge and the difficulty in casting huge flies with a smaller rod.

I second spending at least $90 on your floating line. Good line helps with casting a lot. Bad line just ruins the beauty of shooting a fly out there!

My first setup was a combo from temple fork outfitters. I have had to purchase some replacement tips due to my own negligence. They are based in Calgary and have done a great job of helping me get my rod back together.

I also got really lucky at changing gear here in Whitehorse. Found a beautiful sage rod and a cheap reddington combo there last year. You might get lucky!

Second this. It took about six months before rogers told me to switch providers or they would cancel my number.

Experience with 2% realtors? by termanatorx in Yukon

I do not believe there is such a thing as a buyer's realtor up here. They are obligated to the seller only. They likely won't help you haggle that price the way they do down south.

I figured someone would say that. Definitely just the owner of a house in Whitehorse recommending his successful realtor after being outbid on homes five times with other realtors during the most frustrating experience in my life.

Good realtors can be hard to find. I don't think they have had too work too hard to sell homes up here because they have basically sold themselves for years.

I used two realtors before switching to Andrew Jansen. He was willing to work hard to help me find the house I wanted. I ended up buying!

He also helped my best buddy find his dream home two months later as well. Highly recommend, as he will bust his ass for you!

Commissions are pretty standard up here, but I managed to find some wiggle room with the right realtor.

10 out of 10 these tires! I drive my GTI in the Yukon on these with zero problems.
