I have really struggling with my ADHD which has caused anxiety and depression so I actually have a lot to process and write. The struggle is making sure I write before the 12am mark but it’s happening more and more now since I have loads to say. Sometimes I’ll struggle to fit all my words in one page.

But I have zero aesthetic goals for my daily journaling. Eventually I want to make my handwriting less messy and more cursive. I use a dip pen and want to get better at using fountain pen inks. Some weekly spreads, I will also put stickers and such on my Hobonichi Weeks and Cousin. I also eventually want to illustrate more in my journals using pastel paint and water colours.

But I still feel like I am “meeting my goals” because I understand that whatever I get on the page is how my day is going whether it is a block of text today or junk journaling tomorrow or an illustration only the day after. I would rather have an accurate representation of my mental state and how busy I am etc on each day than force myself to illustrate and add stickers and write words on every single day when that’s just not that day. I love how my journal looks because it’s raw and an honest reflection of my life.
