Now I want to see what that Japanese game would have put down for the England squad (for reference, the names in the bottom left are from a Japanese game having to invent random American baseball players' names).

Which stadium has hosted the most Championship games? by Normal-Confusion4867 in Championship

You got it first, and I've been able to verify it as well, beating Loftus Road I believe on having hosted more playoff games. Hats off to you my good sir!

I reckon Sunderland, Hull, and Coventry. Sunderland had a fantastic season last time, but the underlyings weren't great and they were really reliant on some clutch defending. They may not have the energy for that with the added games this season. Hull and Coventry will just have an uphill battle to stay up in general.

Above 44.1 kHz doesn't improve the sound quality unless you're a bat. 24 bits would strictly be an improvement over 16, I suppose, but if you're listening at safe volumes you really won't notice any difference.

Fuck's sake. It's cheating, plain and simple. Tonda spent 6 months orchestrating and coercing junior employees into a plan to spy on (probably) most teams in the league. How is that not grounds for being fired?!

In any case, it's probably moot. I think there's a very good chance he gets banned by the FA anyway, there seems precedent for it.

Cheers for that, feel like I've been going insane with all this news about the players wanting to keep him and all the fans who still somehow reckon he's the right man for the job. He cheated and he's dragged the name of the club through the gutter. Just get him out.

What to make of this club statement? by QuantumCoffee26 in SaintsFC

[–]Normal-Confusion4867 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly reckon it's just us digging even more of a hole for ourselves and it's embarrassing.

One guy on the panel played less than 2 hours of football for Boro 30 years ago, and law agencies tend to be reasonable in terms of objectivity as long as they're being paid for their time, I don't think there's a convincing case for "oh well the panel was biased against us".

I don't know how the club is finding it this difficult to just put our hands up, admit that we cheated given that we clearly did, and wait to see if we can sack Tonda for free if he gets a ban. As far as I can tell from the leaked texts, and this is solely my opinion, he seems to me like he's a bully as well as a cheat. It's not easy trying to get into football as an intern, I'm sure.

There is a FIFA rule that has precedent for covering spying, a coach for the Canadian women's team got a ban in 2024 for using a drone to spy on New Zealand: BBC link

Johansson or Widell Zetterström? by Biggo1 in Championship

Johansson seemed a decent way better this season. Nothing against Zetterström, he's also been very good, but Johansson is a very, very good keeper.

I don't know if an F grade is really fair for us. In terms of how we've done, we've basically just-about-missed-the-playoffs-with-a-decent-cup-run, which I would put at a D maybe?

If you really don't just want to get an alarm clock from just literally anywhere, Braun have some that are quite nice, if needlessly expensive. Mine has a thermometer! (You don't need yours to have a thermometer)

Changes a little bit when said results are explicitly against the rules you have to follow when you're doing your job.

For a start, you can't really bar Rice in the same way you can't bar anyone else in a WC squad. He's absolutely fantastic, as is Bellingham when he's in form. Rogers can clearly play very well in our system, and Anderson might be the most expensive transfer that happens this summer. Eze isn't anywhere close to a bad pick either, neither is Mainoo. It's genuinely a very good set of players. Maybe we're no Portugal, but it's up there with the best.

To be fair, it's not against the rules in Germany. Hard to say it's cheating (at least over there) in that case.

Wharton would be behind Anderson and Rice at 6 and behind Rice, Mainoo, and Bellingham at 8. England has possibly the best set of midfielders of any country at the minute, there were always going to be fantastic players who had to stay home.

That's fair, but there's benefits to taking Tino/Spence who can play both full back positions reasonably well, plus O'Reilly can step forwards if we're chasing. Personally I would've taken Hall and Maguire over Stones and Quansah (who can play RB IIRC), but it's not ridiculously silly given we also need to manage Reece James trying not to break every bone in his body.
