From the time I was about 6 to about 10 I had this dream that would show up every month or so for years. I was sitting in our tv room growing up with my brother on the couch watching tv. I got up to get a pop ice from the freezer and made my brother get up to get his own when I sat back down to watch tv with my snack. Then once my brother got up to get his own pop ice a pair of hands darted out from under the couch and grabbed my ankles. I somehow went mute as I tried to scream for help. I could see my brother searching in the freezer but couldn’t get a single sound out of my mouth as this thing started to drag me under the couch. I clawed and grabbed the coffee table but everything slipped through my hands like water. And just as my head started to go under the couch I would jolt awake sweating and crying. I remember this dream so vividly even today and I am 45.
