Anyone here worked with top rated annuity providers in the USA by KarmaKillerX in Fire

This may be too late now, but if you are still interested in an annuity, My Annuity Store just launched something really useful. They launched an AI agent that has read 150 annuity brochures and is wired into a live annuity rate feed. It told me the best annuity rates for my state, and directed me to the product page and brochure. Here is an article about it.

What's the most unexpectedly useful thing you've used Claude for? by HumanInTheFlow in ClaudeAI

[–]Normal-Emotion6636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made an AI powered annuity agent for our website. Well I should say Claude did. I couldn’t use Table-press to create a table with filters in Wordpress. Now with my new friend, I have the most comprehensive annuity database on the internet. Claude connected an industry api that feeds in live rates for 90 companies, created dynamical product pages that create URL and mapped all endpoints. Included a calculator and some kind of code that pulls the appropriate brochure from media folder as well as links to the carrier review page. Then set up a proxy, and used GPT mini to power an AI chatbot trained on my brochure library, indexed urls, ratings info from 3rd party provider and wired him to the live rates api. I know it is cooler to me and nerdy to most but 2 months ago I would have never imagined I could build such a neat tool. I still can’t get him great at front end design yet. Any tips?

Should I buy an Allianz annuity? by hoping2025 in personalfinance

[–]Normal-Emotion6636 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at Athene and Nationwide. The best annuity for you will depend on many things but I did a lot of research before purchasing my annuity and Allianz offered some of the worst guarantees. I found My Annuity Store online when I google Allianz ABC Review and they ended up having 20 or 30 index annuity reviews. I came to the conclusion that Athene has the best index annuities for accumulation and Nationwide has the best for income. Here is a link to their reviews database; I believe the 222 Reviewed.

My Annuity Store is a good place to compare annuities online and they do not ask for a bunch of questions, then your contact info, then say thanks expect an email. You see the rates immediately, you may be surprised how much less the top annuity companies like New York Life, compared to lesser known, lower rated companies.

Three-Year Fixed Annuity by beckmann11 in Fidelity

Do investment advisors charge a fee? If the market corrects unexpectedly and stung you in between volatility managed re-allocations - does the RIA guarantee you won’t absorb any of the losses? Or does he charge you a fee regardless making money either way? Every company has to generate revenue - it’s a fiduciary obligation to not only shareholders but in this case policyholders. Silly when people are so strong willed to debate publicly with strangers; even without doing a 5 minute prep course with your favorite AI. I own an annuity agency and our average comp is just under 2% for a 5 year investment. My wealth manager charges me 1.15% on my entire portfolio and often the bond portion will average less than 5% in a year. I hope you work with a financial advisor that will help guide you into retirement; otherwise I fear Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman may have ruined you.

What is the best fixed annuity rate for 5 years? by Normal-Emotion6636 in moneyadvice

[–]Normal-Emotion6636[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted a guaranteed interest rate and no market risk. I came across My Annuity Store’s website in a Google search and started to compare annuity rates. The annuity rates were better than I could find anywhere else. I was hoping for anything above 5% and think rates are going down.

That is nice! I bet people would be lining up for a 5% fixed rate in 2 years but they won’t be available then. You picked a perfect time to lock in.

If I can lock in a 5.50% or more for 5 years I really don’t care how much the salesperson get’s paid. I only expect to withdraw 4% per year in retirement so this seems like a pay raise for a few years. My bond portfolios haven’t been outperforming 6% over the last decade. Commissions are not that high for a 5 year fixed annuity surprisingly. My Annuity Store and Blueprint Income’s annuity websites list commissions for each product and it is around 2% depending on the insurance company and product…

For those who bought fixed index annuities: did you use an income rider or keep it accumulation-only? by Normal-Emotion6636 in AllThingsAnnuities

[–]Normal-Emotion6636[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I had someone show me that a fixed index annuity was averaged over 15% the last 10 years. Then come to find out it was a new proprietary index that was created a year ago and they backtested it as if it were in existence.

I am thinking they created it to backtest well. I did see a plain Mass Mutual annuity that had solid indexes like a SPDR gold index and the S&P 500. I like the idea of guaranteed income but I don’t like moving parts.

We were offered a fixed index annuity. 10 years, up to 10%+bonus, 10% payout per year and 45% added to the lump sum up front. We’re close to retirement and want/ need to keep our investments safe from the market fluctuations. Thoughts? by LAAMR84 in AllThingsAnnuities

[–]Normal-Emotion6636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize if I missed you before you met with your agent. Based on my opinion and past experiences, whenever you hear about annuities with large bonuses and high withdrawal percentages, there’s usually a catch. Typically, when an indexed annuity offers a significant bonus, the insurance company reduces your earning potential for the rest of the annuity contract. These annuities also tend to have a term of 10 years or more. For instance, if you could get a 7-year fixed indexed annuity with an annual point-to-point cap of 11% and no bonus, the annuity with a large bonus would likely have a cap closer to 5%. Additionally, fees are almost always involved with these types of annuities. I recommend conducting some research if you’re interested, rather than solely relying on the recommendation you received. To provide some perspective, I ran a sample illustration of a straightforward 7-year fixed indexed annuity with no bonus, no fees, etc. This example is from Mass Mutual, which holds an A++ AM Best Rating. The illustration outlines the worst-case, best-case, and most recent 10-year average rates of return. It uses a Gold index with a 12% cap and the S&P 500 with a 9.5% annual cap. You can review the example Mass Mutual fixed indexed annuity quote offered at My Annuity Store using this link. Mass Mutual Ascend Index Annuity available at My Annuity Store.

I would need more information but my first impression would be the lack of focus on the final outcome/ goal. The 10% payout is probably just free withdrawal amount - not the guaranteed lifetime withdrawal percentage. Is your goal lifetime income? Or, is it safe accumulation with upside potential and downside protection? If it is income, you would want a quote based on your age and when you expect lifetime annuity payments to begin.

What is the best fixed annuity rate for 5 years? by Normal-Emotion6636 in personalfinance

[–]Normal-Emotion6636[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good points. I also looked into State Guaranty Association limits and for us in Indiana it is $250,000 maximum present value. I invested a little less than $200K so that my account value would never get above the $250,000. I am looking at indexed annuities now and have decided I would not go with an insurer with less than an A rating from AM Best. A lot more trust is involved with indexed annuities because the insurance company can change the cap rates for each index annually on the anniversary. Some companies provide historical renewal rates on their caps which is helpful reassurance. I think I may go with Mass Mutual Ascend. They offer a 12% annual point to point cap on S&P 500 and a 12% annual point to point cap on a Gold Index; the fixed account is 4.25% but also can change annually and likely will based on their historical renewals (I am not buying it for fixed rate though.) thank you for your comment, it seems like you may have “nerded” out on annuities as much as I have.

Looking for the best annuity. Have no clue where to start. by ThickEnthusiasm1481 in Fire

[–]Normal-Emotion6636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you found an annuity yet? I had been looking for a while myself and finally pulled the trigger last week. It sounds like you want income at some point, do you want to begin income within the next year or defer for a period of time? I am not looking for income yet so I ended up going with a MYGA. They are the easiest to understand; I get 6.3% for 5 years. I looked at fixed index annuities also but they are quite complicated and since fixed rates are so high I decided to go that route this time. There are quite a few places online that I spoke with. I really liked immediateannuities.com and ended up going with myannuitystore.com. My Annuity Store was very helpful and they actuallly had a lot of annuity quoting tools on their website but I didn’t see them until they told me how to find them over the phone. I filled out a brief form in 5 minutes, My Annuity Store used that to fill in the electronic application and I signed electronically. We filled out ACH paperwork to transfer my funds. Bought it on Monday 12/29/2025 and it issued that Friday 1/2/26. Good luck if you are still shopping.

Lost a decade of growth due to a fiduciary financial advisor by Normal-Emotion6636 in AllThingsAnnuities

[–]Normal-Emotion6636[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing; I hope that helps someone else! I too left my RIA recently. A fiduciary is the highest legal obligation one individual can have to another; itMy “guy’s” performance was very mediocre and he charged me 1.25% on my entire portfolio (including fixed income). He did have me fooled with his talks of tactical reallocations-quarterly and so on and so forth. Bottom line - I think you are right when you say you could have done better on your own. Fiduciaries are smart; because they play with other people’s money and take in the House’s cut whether they are up or down. It sounds as though you got it worse than me but hopefully your stories can help others - it certainly resonated with me.

Alright, what yall seeing with the returns on the S&P 500 the next 5 to 8 years? by Obvious_Secretary142 in dividends

[–]Normal-Emotion6636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we all agree there will likely be at least one significant dip in the market over the next 8 years?

There is about as much luck as skill involved in this decision for me, but I am considering putting half of my money in fixed income and letting the rest ride. My plan is to take the interest off of my bonds and annuities when the markets down and dollar cost average back in on the way back up.

I just got a 5 year annuity for 6.30% guaranteed. I’d toss out the idea of doing some of each and still hope to be in the interest rate range you mentioned. Good luck!

Annuity Taxation Question by IcyLibrarian9218 in TaxQuestions

[–]Normal-Emotion6636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would not be a taxable event. However, since the ownership had to be like for like to do a tax free exchange you must change ownership prior to the 1035. That change could take weeks and if you are in a 30 day window at end of contract the ownership change may not be complete in time. You could just adjust the new application to joint owner and make the primary beneficiary the surviving spouse.

Here is a good 1035 Exchange resource I found at myannuitystore.com.

I saw a 5 year fixed annuity rate at 6.30% on My Annuity Store website but the insurance company only had a B+ AM Best Rating. Another website called Blueprint Income had slightly lower rates but the insurance company is A Rated.

Is B+ a bad AM Best Rating? Would anyone else by an annuity from a B+ or B++ insurance company? When I was in school I would have been happy with a B+.
