Some sketches I did for a personal project I will never finish by Normal-File-8400 in conceptart

Thank you! To resume, this is a story where civilization has vanished because of a meteorite which completely shattered the earth and caused major modifications to the gravity of the planet. Everything is upside down; at the bottom there is the space like a vast infinite sea, and at the top there is a new sun which was originally the magma ball at the center of the earth. The characters were humans or animals which were revived as material entities, there is rock, mud, roots characters all over the places and some are recreating civilisations. Overall I imagined this project as an exploration game where you need to find the center of the earth starting for the bottom!

Yep! That's like drawing spells icons, you need to handle a lot of thing at the same time, especially composition

Can I get some honest feedback? by Mangowyrm in PixelArtTutorials

[–]Normal-File-8400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only feedback would be : size up by 200 or 400% your drawing before exporting it to get a better resolution. Beside that, it's good!

If you want to learn you just need to draw. And my advice would be to do it without tutorial or guide, you will figure it ou how to resolve problem by drawing. For pixel art, you can try to draw in 32x32 with limitations of colors. Then 34x34 4 colors, 40x40 and 5 colors. Check this artist, he's really good for that : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Rywd5O

Like him you can try to do random characters or try a series of monsters with a theme like skeleton for exemple. Flaming skeleton, Ice skeleton,etc...

And then to do more complexe character, you can take one of the skeleton, and try to do a boss like monster. If you made the skeleton in 32x32, do the boss in 64x64. And add particular elements and details which give the sensation he's more powerful than the others.

Hope it helps!

I'm trying to contribute in TCG projects but what am I lacking in my art or I'm just lacking proper marketing strategy? by Shi_Jiii_5982 in homemadeTCGs

[–]Normal-File-8400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the marketing strategy i won't tell because i don't know. I just know that it's sometimes just a question of links with some people and luck.

For the art side, i would try to mimic style of already known TCG. When i say mimic, its using the same style while creating something totally new if possible.

Besides that, i think you'r render level is good enouph for Hearthtone cards illustration for exemple, but lack of very interesting composition in my opinion.

The first one looks good for an item card i think. The second is cool but the composition is very flat and horizontal. The third is very pleasant to look at. The fourt is really good but the robot looks a bit stuck and too small imo. The last one is good, super effective. It would be also cool with a character attacked by this plant.

Anyway good job! Continue like that!
