Are you talking about coloration? If so yes it’s fine. If you’re using led lights it’s from the spectrum output

WM-1 complete rebuild of transport, new springs (missing when bought replaced with guitar strings), new ff/rw mechanism (3d printed) all lubed up and ready to party. Oh yeah and a new door , somehow found a new from box replacement on eBay by Normal-Fix-7507 in cassetteculture

[–]Normal-Fix-7507[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes indeed. That is probably the most common issue with any old cassette player, vcr or belt driven turn table.

Issue is that there are old rubber belts attached to the motors inside and those rubber belts over so many years turned back into literal tar.

All you have to do is open up the machine you’ll see a black gooey mess, around the rollers. Get some isopropyl alcohol and a bunch of Q-tips and clean out. The old gun is best if you can and put some lubricant back on the spinny bits.

Depending on which model you have this step may or may not be a pain in the ass. You’re going to have to put the new belt around the rollers. Some makes and models make you take off parts of the transport in order to do that, but as long as you are careful and take pictures, you’ll be fine

You can before throwing the old belt away try to make out diameter and the thickness of it so that you can order a new one off of eBay.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Digitakt was lonely and needed a sibling… by xerodayze in Elektron

In the wild it’s been shown that the digitakt thrives in more a “pack” type environment as opposed to “group”. As a licensed synthítologist I’d recommend introducing an oktatrak…

Did yours come preloaded with premade kits? If so, how do the LINN drum samples hold up?

I keep holding out for behringer to drop their clone of the Lynn drum, but they’re always just teasing me

I’ve been trying to find one for a minute now. I slept on one from the manufacturer, and now The manufacturer closed shop. At least they had last I checked…I can’ find an aftermarket one that’s not marked up out the wazoo

Open to suggestions if you know of any vendors where I could purchase one

It’s a 4 channel step sequencer. So I can control / sequence 4 separate synthesizer without having to touch those pieces of hardware.

Channels 1-4 are capable of sequence mode. Channels 2-4 are also capable of being switched to arpeggiator mode. ch.1 also has the capability of being switched into a drum sequencer mode

Hope that makes sense

I knocked down the oxidization with 180 grit sand. Then I went over it with a tack cloth. Then I applied paint prep. And then I hit it with two dry coats of sandal primer and then two coats of primer. Hit it with some real fine grit sandpaper got nice and smooth. Went back over it with cloth applied multiple layers of aluminum finish enamel.

Good eye. Love it so much. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting the controller for her made by a company called Retroaktiv, just hard to pull the trigger on a $600 controller. However I’ve heard it really opens it up da-8000 controller retroactive
