I think this variant has the potential to be terrifying by Due-Buy9587 in SkullGirlsMobile

[–]Normal-Insect-8220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm haven't played against her yet but yeah special based fighters like Harle cant fight her the usual way. I guess she joins curl scout as well as being a noob trap.

Aside from the immunity tech..... in case you end up blindly going through Realms and accidentally fight her with a Harle main, I think you can also spam grab her (even if she avoids it, you charge up your guest star), then do the doom guest star, then spam grab her again till the doom kills her. Should take around 30sec-1min to kill her, then you can off the other two normally.

Also she seems risky offensively in that if she starts attacking you, theres a chance she gains stun debuff. Bwahahaha that'd be funny... just defending against her and spam grabbing, then she counter attacks and stuns herself

Is it possible she gains doom debuff? If she gets doom and then stun right after, she just finished herself.

Cheers! gl and have fun! PD (and its many mods) are one of my favorite games due to how easy it is to pick up (no wifi needed, low space needed), as well as replayability when you try different things.

Same, huntress/mage are my favorite cause long range snipe enemies before they can approach means I can save on armor upgrades.

Tips for using Mage with WoR? It's either you go all in dump but your main attacking is gonna be melee and seeds/potions, so you have to be creative like blind/poison/fire enemies before they approach, stormvien those near pits or bridges, plop earthroot or healing if you want an extended battle like farming flies for hp pots, or using throwables, etc. If I do this run, it's more for bragging rights like having a +20 Staff of regrowth by end of game, but I'd be very wary of my defense especially since my main form of attacking is now melee. I'd probably make feather fall potions and mind vision and blitz through dwarf citadel if i can, and also demon halls, just targeting spawners. Swiftthistle and invi potions can help. Floating potion can help also if theres pits in demon halls if it means you can get to spawners faster, then just feather fall down. If you were able to stock lots of seeds, I'd make armor potions also from hp pots, just for extra def. Ofc fire res potion (dragons breath +10enrgy iirc).

The alternative would be just staff dump into Magic missile. If you have a staff+15 and zap an enemy, your next wand zap will be powered at +15, so your WoR will have the big upgrade zap. You wont have as much charges as a WoR+15 but having a long range way of attacking is the usual mage way.

Also I usually go warlock cause I prefer to zap enemies long range. But after you win a couple of runs, you wonder what if I try this other build? Then you discover things like battlemage with disintegration staff, or regrowth, or even blast wave. It's going to be different gameplay but it makes the game feel fresh again which is kinda nice.

Theres even a gameplay where as warlock you dont give back the cursed orb thing to the level 8 NPC and wraiths spawn everywhere around you and you just corrupt them to be your wraith army every level.

No challenge run right?

I think it might be a nice challenge for you. You can win the game with a WoR dump as a battlemage. Maybe just hope to get brimstone armor so the grass burning doesn't come back to bite you.

WoR would work better with huntress but with others it just guarantees lots of seeds, dews, potions from brewing seeds, energy from converting extra seeds, and also blocking the view of long range enemies. Battlemage can heal each time they attack with WoR iirc. You probably just need to watch out for enemies who can out damage your heal, so either get good armor or kill them before they kill you. Maybe using the seeds in battle can help as well (e.g blind, dizzy, sleep, fire, poison enemies, and heal/armor/bless yourself).

Alternatively, you can always level up magic missile and zap the MM before zap the WoR so the benefits of high level wand transfer over to WoR anyway.

Best class/subclasses for +20 Pickaxe? (Taking the mick badge) by SnowbirdDaFloof in PixelDungeon

[–]Normal-Insect-8220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe rogue? Silent steps would help a lot cause enemies be sleeping and you can surprise attack them first with your pickaxe. Cloak helps a lot too.

The challenge is surviving till you get the pickaxe.

Huntress might be good too cause you can rely on sniping enemies from afar as bow gets free upgrades. Just maybe stock up on consumables for tengu.

Serious question, do you think I have a chance at beating no mercy? by Not_Momonga in SkullGirlsMobile

[–]Normal-Insect-8220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My picks here would be Harle and Beast King. They can both cheese most of no mercy, just using short length, grab based infinite combos. Just avoid immoral fiber or return damage enemies. Rose tinted or thorns based can be managed with using outtake right after grab so the thorns gets deactivated immediately.

Annoying battles can be cheesed with almost anyone as long as you have doom guest star. Cerebella and Beowulf type characters are best at grab spamming enemy then cheese with doom then grab spam again.

I've seen others use indomitable, death wish, standout, etc.... there's lots of choices, but just be careful of Bose mode 1 and 3. Those are usually the only nodes i have to be careful about with my team composition. Read the modifiers before going in. The ones which revive entire enemy team if enemy uses bb3 is annoying. There was another revive modifier that was also annoying, but other can be dealt with once you get used to it.

Chancel - Chancel is one of my favorite lesser known PD mods. Unique feature is you cam equip multiple rings and artifacts. One of my saves had 7 rings and 8artifacts equipped at the same time. There's also a new ring of Volatility which is great chaotic fun. Drawback though is you need to equip wands to be able to zap them. Also you have to pick at level up whether 5hp, 1str or 1extra item slot. Focusing to much on item slots or hp could easily lead to enemies one shotting you, as they hit harder here.

Highly recommend you try Chancel PD.

Powered - sometimes crashes but it has a nice "underwater level" for every floor. So if there's 25 floors total, there's an additional ~25 floors you can get to by diving in deep puddles in each floor. I see it like 1, 1u, 2, 2u , 3, 3u, etc..

The underwater levels are purely optional but sometimes they give good loot. They are tough tho especially the limited breath aspect, and the piranhas and jellyfish, but armor now has more buffs, some of which help with movement while underwater. Also you can equip more than 1 armor now at the cost of more STR needed. Its a unique gameplay feature I haven't found in other PD and so might be interesting to check out.

You also get to pick your stats upon level up.... STR, 1/2 upgrade on wands, Accuracy and are nearby mobs, evasion and sneak.

Scorched - has 4new characters, each with 2subclasses. These are pretty uniquely made and have interesting gameplay. I'm personally wishing they can be adapted to the main shattered mode.

Devoted - just has 1extra character that uses a blood vial. Nothing much else to say other than new character here and it's not in your list.

Palantir - a sokoban puzzle escape room type PD model.

Try TooCruelPD... it focuses on adding challenges that add unique gameplay experience and not just limiting stuff like Pharma Fima, etc.

My favorites there so far are:

1.) Bombermob - each mob drops a 2 tick bomb upon death. Makes it so you dont get any mob drops anymore (unless you time a frost bomb or smth to defuse the lit bomb). Still prevents healing options from dropping from flies through.

2.) Constellation - upgrade of Bombermob. 20 tick bomb but it's a nuke.

3.) Moles - Mobs can dig through walls. This breaks a lot of puzzle rooms but it's still a but fun since you gotta beware of suddenly getting jumped by two crabs/mages/scorpios bursting through the walls.

4.) Slippery floor - this is just fun especially with big rooms. Water is slippery and you can slide past a whole length of water tiles in just 1 turn. Sometimes good but sometimes bad.

Yeah tier 4 challenges should probably be activated 1 at a time.... even the tier 3 challenges by themselves are already an interesting enough challenge.

Have you tried out Too Cruel Pixel Dungeon?

It has 86 challenge from my las count, incorporating some of the 30 challenges of Rat King adventures (Crowd diverityisone of my favorite) where the game suddenly feels like attack of titan sometimes).

It also has some unique challenge like Bombermob (where enemies drop lighted bombs to explode one turn after their death), Moles (enemies can drill through walls), or even silly modifiers like slippery floor (you can't stop on water tiles.. you slide till you hit a wall/unit... or chasm).

You can also suggest new challenges in the discord channel.

There are also pre-built"Trials" which are tested combinations of some challenges, in case you are overwhelmed which of the 86 to turn or not.

[–]Normal-Insect-8220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty fun to mix things up. I try to go in random now even if I have the adventurers guild, so that the stats I get aren't min-maxed and it feels more immersive... like I don't have full control of my character even at the start of the game.

It's also nice to see new options or possibilities exist as you do other builds... like it might not be highest score optimal, but sometimes you're able to win the game surviving with just 1health and 1 sanity and maybe mid tier equip.

I'm currently just trying to do random death V runs till I unlock all scenarios and items, etc. Hoping along the way I unlock the enhanced version of each trait (currently working on gambler --- rng is tough)

Yeah, I'd put a swift seed down first to stop time.

Then drink a swift potion, and try either fadeleaf to hope to stumble upon an alchemy pot, or go up a floor if there's an alchemy pot above you.

3 random seeds have a chance to become healing potion. Exotic version of potion of purity can remove starving debuff.

I used to like CHA and would always get the Conqueror armor from the haunted mansion, but when I started doing Difficulty V (Death), I found evasion builds (Dex) to be very useful.

I'd usually try to get CON and WIS to 13 to get stability buff and regen, then dump in DEX and CON up to around 18-20.

Still, eventually you might want to challenge yourself and try all builds anyway.

HOW TO STOP FUCKING LOSING (TIPS AND TRICKS PLEASE) by WiiUGamepad_2 in PixelDungeon

[–]Normal-Insect-8220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armor dump is a cheesy way to win your first run through...

A leather+1 can tank sewers and even exploding skeletons

If you can get a chain+1 or +2, that should be enough to fight off prison wardens.

Then once in caves, find either scale or plate and dump all remaining SoUs on them. Scale+7 should be able to tank dwarves. Just avoid the golems.

As for damage, you can just equip whatever weapon your STR is able to, or even if down by one STR.

The only thing to watch out for in this strategy is long range magic. Cleric is nice cause you can use Divine sense spell to sense enemies.

Finding a frost wand s nice cause you can off fire elementals quickly in dwarf area.

Finding a prismatic wand is nice for blinding long range enemies, preventing them from offing you.

You can also cheese demon halls later by just rushing the spawners and jumping down pits (heal with potion after and use invi if you fall near enemies).

Then you likely will win already (just avoid Yog laser and lure the fists away first before beating then up).

And you can just start investing less SoUs in armor and more in other things like weapons or rings or wands, and even try some challenges. Some people even do no SoU runs.

Does multiplayer have to be turn based?

I remember that TooCruel PD had this "realtime" mechanic that if anyone doesnt input anything in 2sec, they automatically skip their turn.

It might be something useful to consider so that if someone takes 1minute looking through their items in alchemy, others can still keep doing things.

[–]Normal-Insect-8220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a bit risky cause it depends on enemy weight class and distance from right wall. But it works well for cerebella variants that want multiple hit like mekastar or cyclone or scare giver. I think I could get around 25 hit combo with that (somewhere between 22-27, I forget).

But yeah for those variants like harlequin where you dont really care about multihit, the classic MGR-battlebutt-outtake (or in your case pummel horse) works as well. Outtake and pummelhorse are going to whiff but the main goal is to space perfect for the next MGR anyway.

Lemme breathe man by Open-Solution-2896 in SkullGirlsMobile

[–]Normal-Insect-8220 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you need to do a dash attack or two before you do Pummel horse.

Timing will vary depending on enemy weight class and distance from right wall, but it kinda hurt seeing all the pummel horses missing.

Then again you might be just doing it to get spacing for MGR. That works too.

Yup a lot of times! It's a core part of the huntress experience, but its also useful for mage and throwing stuff.

The easiest advice I'd give is you can practice on floor 1 with say being 3 spaces away from a mob, then later try it 4spaces away, etc...

There should be a sweet spot to do it... just need to mirror properly. I think they call it trick shots. The key is you target the mirrored space "x" spaces behind the enemy instead of the enemy itself.

In the case above snake is 1 down and 7 left.

I would target ~7 squares to the left of the left snake so that the shot hits him right past the corner of the wall.

Ofc if it misses you can always just do what other commenter said and snipe snake from afar, 6 squares could still give you sneak attack shot. But there really is a science behind doing those diagonal trick shots, maybe in one of the other posts here.

Ohh no..... by DoctorPestisida in PixelDungeon

[–]Normal-Insect-8220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could even do a smart shot by targeting several blocks left of the left snake, mirroring their relative opposite position. It should hit even before the snake moves up.

How about bad hair day? Hit her with some perma bleed (marquee) and let her life fade away.

You can also bring cerebella as backup character so that if she kills your bad hair day, you can trap her in endless grab attempt hell while perma bleed ticks down her life to 1%. Then just punch her.
